When I try to play the video on the browser of the PC where emby server is installed and has all the series/movies etc, the video playback is very choppy; the audio playback is perfect. If I try to play it on my android device using the emby app, or in the browser on my phone, it plays perfectly. I use Microsoft Edge: Version 90.0.782.0 (Official build) dev (64-bit). I have the following flags enabled: #load-media-router-component-extension #media-router-cast-allow-all-ips #cast-media-route-provider #edge-on-demand-media-router #global-media-controls #global-media-controls-for-cast Rest all of the flags are set to default.

Video playback pixelations and audio dropouts when Emby Server service is running / updating
Rendboell posted a topic in General/Windows
On my Windows 10 system, the Emby Server service is interfering with VLC and MPC-HC video playback, resulting in video pixelations and audio dropouts. It concerns playback of Blu-ray, WMC recordings and Live TV (maybe also other formats, which I have not tried). I detect the interference by looking at Windows Task Manager while playing movies, and it happens every 3-4 minutes, when the Emby Server service is running / updating and going high on CPU usage (from 0% to 1-2%). If I close the Emby Server, the problem is gone. I am not quite sure when the problem has started, as I have not played movies for a while. The problem is with VLC and MPC-HC (Madvr), but not with Hauppauge WinTV 10 and WMC (Windows Media Center). Windows 10, Emby Server, VLC and MPC-HC are all updated to latest versions. Hardware: Asus z-97 deluxe motherboard, Intel Core i7-4790K processor, Intel HD Graphics 4600, RME Fireface 800 soundcard. Emby Server logs are attached. embyserver-63743686306.txt embyserver-63743673601.txt- 6 replies

Still new to Emby, ive been a premire member for about 9 mo. i read somewhere if i got a better cpu that i could transcode on the fly better. So i got an i5-8400. So i tried playing this vid streaming in my home network (windows 10) to S7 at 1080p 20mbps Subs off and it played, but the CPU was at 100% constantly. Should vid this be putting that kind of strain on my cpu? Hey team, I'm having a weird issue with my 3rd gen Fire TV. When I go to play any video with DTS audio the video will not play, It doesn't lock up just sits at a black screen with the controls. All of these are direct plays are well... However, while the video is sitting on the back screen, if I change the display mode from 4k to 1080p it starts playing fine. Same if I change the bit rate so it changes to transcoding it starts playing. I have tried all the refresh rate switching options with no luck. Also, emby works fine on my fire TV stick that only supports 1080p. Any thoughts? I have attached my emby server log. Thanks, EmbyServer.txt

Every video I try to play on my local server requests that I get premium or Play 1 minute. Is this correct, or did I set something up wrong?

I'm running emby app on fire tv. Is there a setting to get full screen without having to horizontal stretch on each movie. It's playing all content with a black border around the whole movie.

Chocolate theme does not allow full screen movie play
brandin.p.lea posted a topic in Windows Media Center
The enhanced menu features of Emby for WMC in the chocolate theme do not allow for full screen use, or at least none that I can find. It always seems windowed unless I stretch the movie, which ultimately cuts off some of the picture. Am I not seeing something in settings here?- 14 replies

Nvidia Shield Android TV - Video Playback - Screen-Hopping
Michael_Schmitz posted a topic in Android TV / Fire TV
Hi at Emby, first of all, great product, very happy with it. And it gets better from release to release I have the following problem. I am recording Star Trek Next generation. A tv show that is aired at 4:3 not 16:9 Format is .ts Some of the videos are ok. When I start Some of them from the beginning they are flickering and stretch and squeeze very quickly. It seems that emby tries to stretch them to 16:9 and quickly falls back to 4:3. Wenn I pause them a use the chapter navigation everything works fine. Any Idea? Best Michael -
Keyboard combination to skip forwards/backwards x seconds/y minutes?
Silver posted a topic in Windows Media Center
Hi, In Windows Media Center you can type 520 [ctrl] [shift] F and it will jump forward 5 minutes and 20 seconds. Doing 120 [ctrl] [shit] B will jump 1 minute 20 seconds backwards. In Media Browser, if you do the first example then it jumps forward a chunk of time, immediately jumps back to the place where you were and then starts playing in double speed. Is there a key combination that allows you to jump forwards/backwards in the same way you can in Windows Media Center? Does this key combination differ if you're using the enhanced video player?* Doesn't matter if you have to enter minutes and seconds or if it's just seconds. I intend to map the keyboard combination to a button on my remote. Many thanks! * I have to turn this functionality off because it makes playback jittery. -
Hi, Is there any way I can detect in my external program whether or not a video being played is using Media Browser rather than the internal WMC player (for WTV content)? My gut feel was to check is ffdshow was running, but that doesn't appear on the task list. Before I go hunting for other possible process names, is there a much easier way to do this? Thanks!

I have recently updated MBC. When I attempt to play certain television shows or movies through MBC, some of the videos are pixelated and nothing but jagged lines. However, when the same videos are played through VLC, Media Player or MBT, they are fine. It worked fine until I updated about two weeks ago. Also I added MB theatre on the same machine as MBC, could this be causing the issue?. Any help is appreciated. This is a windows 8 machine with media center. the server and client are both on this machine.
