Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!

    Manual Tag Sort

Hi, the drag handles are being removed like I mentioned earlier. The right solution to this is to just ensure that the tags are sorted consistently everywhere that you see them.
  5. HI, yes this is a great option, and yes there is an Emby app for it.
  6. I'm looking into a large outdoor TV with high SDR Brightness to use on my back patio and this model has filtered to the top of my list. It's been a while since I've used Samsung TV Tizen OS for Emby so I have a few questions coming from AndroidTV / GoogleTV which all my TV's either have natively or via MiBox s' or nVidia ShieldTV's. Has an official app been released to the Samsung Store yet? How does the interface compare with the AndroidTV app which I really like for the Emby Home Screen and the LiveTV Guide? Does the Emby App take full advantage of the TV's advanced playback such as Atmos and HDR 10+? The Hisense U7 and U8, both native AndroidTV / GoogleTV OS are in strong contention too.
  7. Same issue here. I'm actually brand new to Emby (former plex user) and this is a fresh install for me. Same specs. Device: iPad Air OG iOS Version: 12.5.7 Emby App Version: 2.2.19

Emby stopped working on one device

And it's gone again. So thats me done with Emby now. Deleting, cancelling my subscription and going back to Plex.
  9. Sorry I don't as I have not used a VPN in general. May have to wait for some else to comment.
  10. Thanks, I guess I will have to see if this will settle down in a couple of days after several scans (although I was sure that number of bif files equal the number of episodes so I figured all were populated already). And about the second log: do you have any idea is there any option or workaround and using NordVPN and Emby on the same machine?
  11. I actually realized I had made a really bad mistake when having setup Emby, so I redid my Emby server and upon creating my Libraries I ordered my "Metadata downloaders" in the same order as I have with my Jellyfin setup and all the bio info is showing up. So problem seems solved. That sounds like a good idea too, kind of like how you can select per library how often to update the library metadata but that configure that for people with a global default that you can't change to prevent it from ddosing the providers. In the mean time I got ChatGPT to write a bash script to do it for me. #!/bin/bash # Emby server details EMBY_SERVER_URL="http://localhost:8096" API_KEY="your_api_key" # Function to extract JSON values extract_json_value() { local json=$1 local key=$2 echo "$json" | sed -n "s|.*\"$key\":\"\([^\"]*\)\".*|\1|p" } # Function to update people metadata update_people_metadata() { echo "Fetching all People..." # Fetching all People PEOPLE_JSON=$(curl -s -X GET "$EMBY_SERVER_URL/emby/Persons?api_key=$API_KEY") PEOPLE_IDS=$(echo "$PEOPLE_JSON" | grep -o '"Id":"[^"]*' | sed 's/"Id":"//') for PERSON_ID in $PEOPLE_IDS; do echo "Updating metadata for person ID: $PERSON_ID" # Refresh person metadata curl -s -X POST "$EMBY_SERVER_URL/emby/Items/$PERSON_ID/Refresh?api_key=$API_KEY" # Optionally, you can wait a bit between requests to avoid overloading the server sleep 1 done echo "Metadata update completed." } # Execute the function update_people_metadata Will test it out tomorrow to see if it actually works.
  12. Today
  13. All I can say is with the logs provided you have Markers and Interval images being created along with every episode quering TMDB. So it appears normal to me. So until your server settled down I think this are going to be slower but only going off the logs provided.
  14. Also experiencing similar quitting issue since yesterday, with the title listed versions of iOS and Emby. Will wait for update!
  15. If I run full library scan (for all 6 I have) would it show anything else? TV Show library is the largest and this is where I see a notifiable difference in time it needs to scan
  16. From what those logs are showing I would say yes it appears normal. But neither log actually shows library scan unless you just did one library.
  17. I am aware from the other posts to set both as a scheduled tasks, I already run the first scan that run for 24h and created all bif files (stored with media). But now (no matter if I set these options to Never or as a scheduled task) library scan without even adding new media takes about 40 minutes (compared to 30 seconds prior ). And as you can see from my logs there are no logs for image extraction or fingerprints for intros, just a bunch of queries to tvdb or tmdb for old series that already have all metadata in nfo files. Hence my question, is that normal?

  19. from my 4.7 version, I'm looking to transfer media libraries, user profiles (history, media library access, etc...), my playlists (from what I've understood, in 4.8 I believe that playlists can be set up under the user profile ...)

Performance issue - WebApp is loading to slow

That is really all up to Synology on when they approve the package.
  21. Yes it is expected as it is creating interval/bif files for every item. I would put a time limit on the task and run during off peak time. As this is a large task initially but once done it is as needed when adding media. And you enabled intro markers so this will extent time even more. But is dependent on when you have the tasks run. So you may not want them to run during library scans until all item have makers/fingerprints and bifs. Not sure on your network issue but failed provider queries will slow things down also. You will want to use GPU whenever possible.

Performance issue - WebApp is loading to slow

Is there any expected/announced release date?
  23. I wanted to ask about my new setup and the minor problems I’ve encountered so far. Last week, I transferred from Emby Server on my Synology NAS to Emby Windows Server on my NUC. I noticed a massive increase in the server's responsiveness, and I think there is much less transcoding going on. At that point, I decided to upgrade the user experience even more, and I enabled the Skip Intro function and 10-second thumbnail intervals for the first time. This, however, caused an issue with slow library scans. I spent most of today turning various functions on and off to see what might be causing this (if anything, and to determine if this is expected behavior), but my knowledge of reading logs is limited. The second problem is that when using NordVPN (even with split tunneling enabled for Emby), my logs are flooded with errors saying the server has no outbound connection. Is there anything I can do in my setup to bypass this? My setup is as follows: · Emby Server on Windows 11 · All media are on mounted drives on my Synology NAS on my local network (\192.168.0.10\Media) · External access for my users is through a reverse proxy DDNS domain pointing to my NAS that routes the traffic to my local NUC with Emby on the local network (192.168.0.20). Initially, I tried to use Nginx or Caddy directly on the Windows server, but since the NAS has a built-in RP with auto-updated Let’s Encrypt certificate, I decided to stick with that. · The NUC8i7HVK has 16GB RAM, an i7-8809G CPU, a Radeon RX Vega GH GPU, and an Intel 630 UHD. The Synology NAS is a DS220+ with two HDD drives. My questions are: 1. Do my logs (one with VPN on and the other off) indicate why the library scan (7TB of series episodes) now takes almost 40 minutes every time after enabling Intros and thumbnails? Will it get faster after several full scans? 2. Is there a way I can use NordVPN daily to browse the internet on the same Windows machine as the Emby Server? 3. Is my configuration ok? (DDNS domain and reverse proxy on NAS -> Emby Server on Windows -> back to NAS to grab media on mounted drives.) 4. Should I use the CPU or GPU as my first choice for transcoding? Any tips appreciated. Shout out to the people that know thing or two. @rbjtech @Luke @Happy2Play @jaycedk embyserver.txt embyserver (1).txt
  24. I think in addition to checking for empty overview, we can also check if the person hasn't had their metadata refreshed within x number of months.

    Manual Tag Sort

This is just UN FREAKING BELIEVABLE. Why would the dialog box options be different depending on which view you use???????????????????????????????????????????? First is in Movies.......Handles visible Second is Search, same movie, Edit Metadata, No Handles. So we can't search for a movie and change the Tags???? Or seeing how you all operate I guess you'll remove ALL the handles as punishment for questioning the EMBY Gods of Programming. You've took a decent program and pretty much ruined it.

    Square artist posters

EDIT: I should have posted this in the Testing area. I don't think I have the necessary permissions to move it. I'm sideloading the latest build for Android TV (3.3.94). I'm very grateful and excited for the inclusion of Composers, but I am increasingly frustrated that artist posters are round. I know that some think the "industry" is going that way, but, to me, it looks old-fashioned and cheesy. After all, most portrait images are square. Forcing a round frame on them can cause faces to be partially, or even fully hidden. Faces hidden or cut off: Portraits the way they were intended: I realize that I previously said this wasn't all that important, but the more I see it, the more noticeable and irritating it becomes. I hope there will be an option to choose square (or even native-aspect-ratio) posters.
  27. I tried that as well… but still isn’t working and it’s definitely the IPad update because also have Emby on my nvidia that is working perfectly..
