However, i have just switched back to recording in TS again for a few reasons. I have created a new server and wanted to try out Quicksync. There are several problems with Qucicksync and one of them is with HDHR HD content. Luke has already put in a "fall back" in normal transcoding on playback that if the Quicksync conversion fails he will retry with CPU transcode. However he has not put this "fall back" code in the record-transcode logic yet which means that HD content fails to record with Quicksync enabled. Once he enables this fall back in record-transcode I may go back to it. Another issue, which does not really concern me, is Subtitles. Watching BBC1 HD live now via HDHomeRun now and there's no subtitle option in the OSD in the ATV app. Need "Stats for Nerds" adding into the ATV app so we can see what is being fed to the client. Similarly if I watch a recorded SD broadcast then the subtitle icon is in OSD and i select Eng I FULLY agree on "Stats for Nerds" - So useful in web app. Really need it in F/ATV app sp PLEASE @@ebr put it in. So in summary, we record to .TS (no record transcode) and with .6 we have problems with playback of the .ts recording. >5 and earlier were all ok with this. The issue is simple. in .6 and before if we recorded an HD channel then we could play the recording even if we could not view it Live. NOW Recorded HD content also fails to Play with spinning circle. Can we PLEASE get back the playback functionality before experimenting with Live Further. I have not got a copy of the .5 system directory. Have you got an archive of the .5 install zip could really do with rolling back to keep the wife happy. I'm on a Shield that can do this by hardware codecs and from my understanding Exoplayer can utilize this (tunneling). From the server's perspective, you'll notice the client has specified that it needs deinterlacing under certain conditions, but those conditions are not being passed all the way through the chain and therefore the deinterlacing doesn't happen. I have HDHomeRun on my non-net core beta server with HDHomeRun and all HD channels are playing as they should (Direct/V).
