afullmark 20
Is there still an issue here? Let's get this resolved. If I understand correctly, we think the failure is due to deinterlacing not being applied, right? Doesn't the shield tv have hardware deinterlacing? Hm, maybe it doesn't apply here on second thoughts.
ebr 14913
Doesn't the shield tv have hardware deinterlacing? Hm, maybe it doesn't apply here on second thoughts. It appears to work for HD Mpeg2 but not H264. We already allow the device to handle the deinterlacing for HD Mpeg2. This particular issue appears to be that at the time we probe the stream for live playback, we don't see it as interlaced so we don't request that it be deinterlaced in the transcode and the resulting stream we get simply hangs up and never gets started. Very, very difficult to confirm though without access to one of the actual live streams. Perhaps one of you guys can invite me via Connect to your setups and I can try and play one of them from here. ebr 14913
The only thing I notice is the same thing I noticed from maegibbon's log - the app is not requesting that it deinterlace even though the profile I'm using should be telling it to. @@mini__me can you please find the ffmpeg logs from my playback earlier today and post them for comparison? Thanks.
ebr 14913
Are your guys streams actually broadcast as h264 or do you have a HDHR that is transcoding them on the fly?
Nathanio 35
I am using the HDHR24-2DT which doesn't do any transcoding
mini__me 23
Wow, lots of stuff tonight @@ebr server version is 3.2.30.0 Can confirm the HDHR model in the UK does not support hardware transcoding. I have the problem when the server tries to Direct Stream (remux) the channel, if for any reason it transcodes then it plays back fine. I've attached your Nexus log which is a transcode, however any transcoding and I don't expect you'll see any problems playing back. All your playback attempts were transcoded and successful. ffmpeg-transcode-80f09bda-a2a2-44b9-a17e-6e60e63f7a12.txt Edited September 12, 2017 by mini__me

ebr 14913
In the remux log that you said fails, ffmpeg claims the incoming stream is 1080p. Is that true? You guys have broadcasts in 1080p? Even so, I cannot see any reason why it would need to be transcoded.
mini__me 23
Yeah pretty sure a number of years ago they started in 1080p
