I can see that you have corrected missing params in Beta 12 but that still does not work.

 

I have also rolled al the way back to beta 5 and it still does not work

 

Something must have changed with the request Client side from .54 to .55

 

Perhaps this is to do with forcing a full transcode rather than a remux which @@ebr put in for UK HD content?

 

i.e. this content would have played with a remux before as I dont think its actually interlaced.  Now a full transcode is cocking it up.

As i said previously i do believe that this is down to the current FORCED transcoding that @@ebr put in as a test in F/ATV .55.  I think this should be rolled back to how it was in .54 and where it alows remux and put an option to force transcode in the playback correction for the UK HD stuff that does not remux but requires full transcode.

 

Incidentally, i get the same "Conversion failure" with recent ffmpeg 3.3.3 so its not something that has been corrected in a more recent build than emby stock ffmpeg.

As i said previously i do believe that this is down to the current FORCED transcoding that @@ebr put in as a test in F/ATV .55.  I think this should be rolled back to how it was in .54 and where it alows remux and put an option to force transcode in the playback correction for the UK HD stuff that does not remux but requires full transcode.

 

I'm not so sure about that.  This would only come into play if there was a previous playback error or it was Live TV with the direct stream option turned off.

 

Even so, forcing a transcode should not cause a problem like this.

But now everything is transcoded and not remuxed when it is a .ts file.

 

And the ffmpeg conversion fails as shown.

 

I have found that the version of ffmpeg that comes with MCEbuddy2x DOES work for the transcode in this situation but I still feel that forcing a transcode when a remux will do is a step in the wrong direction.

I re-read your response.

 

So that it is clear.  Media that succesfully remuxed in the past NOW is force transcoded NO PLAYBACK error involved.

 

Straight off the bat it is transcoded.  I understood in this post:

 

"This may actually be a problem as what I've probably done now is prevent stream copy in general when going through the server.

 

Will probably have to adjust it so that you have to manually intervene with these videos"

 

That you had effectively FORCED transcode of everything going through the server - and that is what I am seeing.

No, that will only be done if there is an error or if you deselected direct streaming for Live TV.

Without question, media that was remuxing previously now fully transcodes.  I believe this was introduced in .55.

 

Nothing now remuxes for me on playback, everything ATTEMPTS to transcode and is only ALWAYS successful if i use the MCEBuddy verssion of ffmpeg.

 

I would urge you to look at the recent changes again.

To prove it, any chance you can make a .56 which is a reversion to .54.

 

If i do not see it remuxing then i will just live with my problems and forget about it/go elsewhere.

 

If it does show a remux then the code change to .55 needs some revision in my opinion.

I think it is a change in a common component and the way one language is interpreting a value vs. another.

 

However, this situation should still just be causing a transcode when not necessarily needed.  That doesn't explain why those transcodes would fail...
