Hey Luke

Regarding my previous post: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/2142-emby-theater/page-111#entry553702

Sorry I did not realise at the time that direct donations were not possible.

Anyway, regardless of my request; I have taken up a monthly subscription which I will maintain for a while.

Figured that's the right thing to do as it has been sometime since my last donation. :)

In the meantime; I have rolled backed to 2.9.6, and blocked future updates, so if what I want is not possible, then I'll continue with what I have.

Cheers :)

Hi,

I also have problems with 2.9.7; I completely lost video playback. Tried everything to make it work but couldn't figure it out. Rollbacked to 2.9.6 and it's working perfectly.

Windows 10 Intel NUC Core i3, Intel 4000 graphics.

Also, since that NUC is on Windows 10, I have to set uncomment app.disableHardwareAcceleration(); in main.js of electron to get any Live TV stream watchable. If not set after a minute or two there's a thousand dropped frames after a couple minutes. Perfect playback when hardware acceleration is disabled in the config file, and surprisingly, CPU usage drops by half.

And thanks! :)

@@mtstuff can you please try undoing that main.js change? thanks.

Yes it will.

cool, but could you a bit more specific? i'm assuming all of the updates/improvements discussed in this thread won't apply to the android version, if that's the case which are the key changes that will impact the android version? thanks!

Has version 2.9.7 been pulled from the website.

I just re-installed from the site and noticed I now have version 2.9.6 back.

Just wondering.

HI Luke,

Changes to main.js are overridden at every update, I always have to set them back. I tried with and without it, no change. Fully patched Windows 10 1709 and updated video drivers.

I pulled it for now, yes.

Not sure, if this has been reported previously, but version 2.9.7 only performs one refresh rate change.

First video I play causes a refresh rate change, then stopping playback it will switch back to 60Hz. But then playing another video (even the same one) it will simply stay at 60Hz.

I ended up rolling back to 2.9.6.

Yes, I have the exact same issue, I reported this over @ the GUI overlays thread i the testing area. But glad its reported here too as I thought I might be the only person experiencing this.

ET 2.9.6

ES 3.3.0.0 & 3.3.1.0

Yesterday I went into ET and got a "Sign In Error, Invalid username or password." I tried changing the server. I tried other users. I updated Emby Server to 3.3.1.0. The only way to get in is to manually login.

The only thing that I can think of that changed is that I logged in to a different account that asked for a password and left the "Remember me" box checked. This is definitely going to attract some wife aggro, what can I do short of deleting ET and having to set up its preferences for each user again?

Try it again.

Had the same issue yesterday - returned home from work to an angry wife who'd been unable to watch her shows in the afternoon.

Eventually it started working, perhaps something updated in the background.

@@Luke any chance of a wake server option like the android app to send a magic packet to the server? I've started sleeping the server as my usage has gone down a fair bit

Yes it's doable, just haven't gotten to it yet for this app. Thanks.

@@Luke, I've noticed for the past month or so that any time I exit ET Electron crashes and I get the "Electron has stopped working" dialog. I've done a bit of searching through this thread, but 113 pages is kind of tough to pinpoint this particular issue.

I don't have any issue with playback or anything, and it doesn't really affect anything other than having to close that dialog every time I exit ET.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Try installing from the website over the top of your current version. Thanks.

Has anyone else had trouble exiting out from the homescreen to the options menu (where you can choose settings, exit, sign-out, etc) by pressing exit on your remote?

Takes ages before anything happens (if it happens at all). Just now I had to resort to clicking the user icon at the top right.
