jmedemar 8 Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 On a side note jmedemar, could you teach me how to set up a VPN sometime. Probably not much I can teach you. I am just using UsenetServer VPN service. It's just an program that you install, then select where you want your IP to show coming from, then you click connect. Its really simple and seems to be working well, although I'm sure there are better options around. I've been using it for almost a year now. https://www.usenetserver.com/vpn/ 1
chef 3808 Posted May 25, 2015 Author Posted May 25, 2015 (edited) Hey guys! We're back in the catalog yet again. This time we're on a Beta version. I went back and re-coded a lot of the Async Functions which made requests to the MiCasaVerde Servers to find account information. When an error occurs, the function returns an empty string. Then before the plugin attempts to do anything with the MiCasaVerde Information it looks first for an empty string. I left it Beta because there is still a chance that problems still occur. Ps: no weird active buttons either. Edited May 26, 2015 by chef
Xzener 729 Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 (edited) Pending restart after latest version will not clear. Only way to clear it is to delete the plugin. Any ideas? Edited May 27, 2015 by Xzener
chef 3808 Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 (edited) Rename the XML configuration file to " backup.mxl" and restart. I added new nodes, so it may not be as compatible with an older version of the XML. Also check if the Plugin dll has the extension ".dll". I may have misnamed the file. Let me know Edited May 27, 2015 by chef
Xzener 729 Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 (edited) Looks as though a file named "Vera Smart Home Automation" has no extension, while the other one is a .dll. Edited May 27, 2015 by Xzener
chef 3808 Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 (edited) Thank you xzener. I will fix it. You'll want to remove the file with no extension ( keep your configuration XML), reinstall the plugin. Edited May 27, 2015 by chef
fantaxp7 191 Posted May 27, 2015 Posted May 27, 2015 Same restart error, did as you said, now fixed. Thanks

Xzener 729 Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 I uninstalled, deleted file, reinstalled... Same issue, but no erroneous file. Has this been fixed Chef?
chef 3808 Posted May 28, 2015 Author Posted May 28, 2015 (edited) I uninstalled, deleted file, reinstalled... Same issue, but no erroneous file. Has this been fixed Chef?It should be. The server doesn't want to restart? Has both the dll and the "no extension" file been removed successfully during uninstall? Edited May 28, 2015 by chef
Xzener 729 Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 I deleted everything, restarted, installed, restarted... Now its constantly on a install/reboot pending merry-go-round. Yes, all items have been deleted, reinstalled.
chef 3808 Posted May 28, 2015 Author Posted May 28, 2015 (edited) Okay, lets see if it is the DLL or something else. Here is a direct download for the plugin. If you experience the same behavior after placing it in your plugin folder and restarting, then we'll know for sure it is the DLL. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/46151346/SampleProject/SampleProject/bin/Debug/Vera%20Smart%20Home%20Automation.dll Edited May 28, 2015 by chef
fantaxp7 191 Posted May 28, 2015 Posted May 28, 2015 (edited) Yea I lied or it came back by itself. I will try what you just posted. EDIT: Still happening. I deleted the .dll I had, moved the downloaded one into plugin directory and rebooted. Edited May 28, 2015 by fantaxp7 1
chef 3808 Posted May 28, 2015 Author Posted May 28, 2015 (edited) Okay. I will fix it after work. Sorry about that guys. It could be the XML configuration file. You could rename it "backup" and restart. Edited May 28, 2015 by chef

chef 3808 Posted May 28, 2015 Author Posted May 28, 2015 I'm looking over the code now. Fanta could you please link a copy of your Plugin Configuration XML file?

chef 3808 Posted May 28, 2015 Author Posted May 28, 2015 (edited) A new version is added to the catalog, we need a fresh install. @@Xzener and @@fantaxp7 please delete the XML file: "MediaBrowser-Server\plugins\configurations\Vera Home Automation.xml". Uninstall the existing plugin, and then download the new version from the catalog. You'll have to set up again. Edited May 28, 2015 by chef
chef 3808 Posted May 29, 2015 Author Posted May 29, 2015 Cool! Sorry about the reset... It's kind of a pain.
Xzener 729 Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 (edited) My setup is rather easy, not a problem setting back up. Love the app, well done. 5 stars. Edited May 29, 2015 by Xzener
