MediaInfo For Emby Plugin(HDR, Vision, Atmos, DTS:X)

Totally lost here. I installed the package on my Synology. Now what? I've read and re-read the Wiki and it talks about a settings page I can't find because although my Synology says the plugins are installed, Emby doesn't show me the plugins.

If you already installed both the mediainfo and mkvtoolnix apps from Synocommunity and Media Toolbox from the Emby plugin catalog, then you might need to restart Emby server to see the plugin.

I did that. Twice! No dice! Do I need to be on Premier?

Edit: Wait, Media Toolbox? There is no Media toolbox in my Emby catalog or in Community.

I think it is going through a name change.  The name in the catalogue may be the old name.  It's Media Toolbox when you use it though

Not showing up anywhere on my Emby server. Not under plugins. Not on the menu like yours. Nothing! But both Info and ToolNix are installed and running on the NAS. I have a DS418 and I already can't upgrade to the latest Emby version so this is getting pretty annoying. Don't get me started on trying to install Emby on my Shield Pro lol.

The plugin may require a certain version of server.  @Cheesegeezer would need to say

Are you trying to sideload one of the two Android apps?

I think that might be the issue with my Synology NAS but since none of your binaries work with DSM7.1 on the DS418 NAS I'm stuck. As for the Shield, the server app installs but then I can't connect to the webpage. I know there is no firewall or other connectivity issue because I have another web based server running which I can access from anywhere on my LAN.

Frosty, where did you get your version from?

I am on the latest I can find and that is 1.0.0.2, while you are on 1.0.1.4...

Cheese has a beta version he's working on.  Contact him.  He's adding a tab for deleting unwanted subs.

Using version 1.0.0.2 and i've seen a few movies where the title track gets overwritten by the bitrate. So instead of MOVIE NAME it will be HD 1080p 5mb/s

I have not read through this entire thread so not sure if someone else has reported this.

Thank you!

@Cheesegeezer, any chance you could put me in the beta group as well? Thanks! 🙂

There are options to control that, check them out.

I got the BIF files working.  Figures that was the thing I didn't care as much about.

I'm having a crap of a time trying to get MediaInfo working.  I restarted the server, and checked the option to Refresh All Items.  I figured I'd let it run after I had updated all the BIFs.  I started the task and it's just sitting there are 0%... Again...  Been like that for 14 hours now.

The MediaInfo part only takes a few minutes for a large library - so something is not right.

Ensure you have used the mediainfo CLI executable in the path and not the normal mediainfo.

Turn on debug logging as it has comprehensive logging and will tell you exactly what it is attempting to do.

Share if you like and we can try and help. (PM or post here ..)

It only happens with a few movies. I don't see how I'm going to  contol that.

I'll just have to monitor for changes.

OK so now that I have the correct OS binary (I still don't understand why admittedly dumb mistake wasn't corrected by the mods) this does work very nicely and I may have discovered one file with the wrong audio codec because of it.

I still don't know how you were removed.  Very confused.

Cheers fella

I had no idea how to do this lol but I got there in the end :) The output is horrible and double spaced so I also added a text file attachment just in case.

@softworkz

Neik did post this in the beta thread regarding the linux library issues

Quote

Just got to it and it seems like I have good news regarding the library issue on Linux.
I reverted the change I made to Emby's lib by replacing the file with the original file I backed up before and it just works.

I'll keep an eye on it.
