I update MKVtoolnix (v 73.0.0) today on my PC, when I was muxing that file. Maybe new version of MKVtoolnix is the problem.

Possibly - it's a new release from a few days ago but a quick look at the release notes suggests nothing was changed with mkvpropedit ..

I'll try and test when I get some time - but unless you need the latest, maybe rollback to the previous version.

exactly! currently there have been no tests conducted on v73

in order to test this, you need to override the mkvtoolnix version and run it on a test library.  We had huge issues with v71 and it actually trashed a few users media.  so now i have put in logic to only be able to run on tested versions to safe guard the users media.

if you turn on debug logging and run the tool without overriding the version check then the log should tell you that the version is unsupported.

then if you turn on the override check and TEST on your TEST library!! It will allow it to run once overriding the check and you should see something like

"EEk good luck" in the log.

The log said mkvpropedit V22 on a Linux system.

I guess mkvtoolnix V73 was used for pre-processing on a windows machine. Maybe the (very) old V22 mkvpropedit cant handle some stuff mkvtoolnix v73 wrote to the mkv.

What version of mkvtoolnix you used before for pre-processing?

Maybe upgrading mkvpropedit (on the linux machine) to version V70.x or 72.x (dont use V71 versions!) is the way to go....

Agree. V71 is black listed and can't be used

Thanks for the log.

So it's failing when it hits the mediaInfo part... it's not even getting the mkvpropedit part.  so i think this might be something to do with the json that is being extracted.  

Can you double check that you have correct mediaInfo installed and that this can read a media file and output info.

Select the JSON option from view menu

and you get good readable information in the json

I have installed V72.0.0. on my PC for preprocessing purposes, and mux file with that version (that was the version that I had when all did well) but with the same result, failed.

On my Synology DS1817+ version 22.0.0-2 is the latest version on Synocommunity.

Maybe it is only that one file because i did completely refresh (refresh all items) and all files are good except that one movie.

doesn't look like there is anything wrong with that.

is the file locked.  Can you check in mkvtoolnix to see if you can edit something in the headers or a chapter name or something and see if it processes.

The file is not locked. I tried to rename an chapter and it went fine.

If I got it right, the server is running on Synology, so you would probably need to have a look at the JSON of Synology's  mediainfo rather the one being created on your PC as the plugin is relying on the mediainfo within the Synology.

The version on Synology pretty old (22 vs. 72ish).

I have update:

One folder (in which this problematic movie is) has croatian letter "Č" (KRIMINALISTIČKI). I have replace that letter with "C" and all works well now. I don't know what changed as older movies in that folder were processed without any problem. But it works now!!!

I've found that if the plugin is running when emby gets restarted or shutdown it reverts back to the default settings and needs to be restored from backup.

There is nothing i can do about that. It’s obviously forced by an admin or possibly a windows update. 
the task should be cancelled and the plugin will gracefully exit after it has completed.  At no stage during the task itself does it adjust any user settings, so why they are lost is beyond me.

only reset functions are set to off when everything has completed.

if you have a log with enabled debug mode or more info on what version you are running and what system, this is really helpful.

but coming to me with a box of scrap parts and saying it doesn’t work right is a little vague.
