Old Server on Dead Computer needs deleting to allow new server to work?
mlovely posted a topic in General/Windows
Hi, total scrub over here. I made my server on my old desktop that just died last week (ouch) and created my new server using the same emby connect account on my new desktop. When I go to stream from my apple TV that worked extremely well with my original server on the same internet connection, the apple TV asks me to select a server (the old one or the new one I made). Everytime I select the new one and enter the pin to connect, it gets stuck loading and never loads. Do I need to delete the old server to get this new one working? Because I don't have access to the old desktop that its on anymore. If not, is there anyway to delete it from my new computer? And is this even a problem or is there a problem with my new server? Please help! I need to stream my local library again!!! Update: When connecting through Apple TV, I tried connecting with the emby connect PIN and it gets stuck on loading and then I tried using the specific server address and port (which I made sure was open with my firewall) and it kicked me back to the page asking if it should connect with Emby Connect PIN or server address. This loops on repeat. Help!!2 -
Hello fellow Emby enthusiasts, I have just recognized that several media files have been deleted from the server. It is not just a database/scanning issue, the actual folders where this media files have been in, are gone. I just found out about the deletion because the collection folder had some movies in it which are not present under the corresponding folders. The media harddrive is raid protected, a manual deletion can be excluded also. - Can you guys think of any other possibility which may randomly deleting media folders? - The option to allow deletion which can be done in user settings, could that have been it maybe? ... and if yes, is there a log which can be searched for this event - and what string should be looked for? EDIT: searched the logs and couldnt find any deletion - but have to say logs go only back for a couple of days and the deletion could have very well happened several month ago. Thanks. Soki EDIT: just allowed media deletion for a test account and i was not able to delete any file under any section. Therefor I assume another situation must have caused the deletions.

Hi All, After having a problem relating to locating subtitle files, please see: http://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/22668-subtitle-location-and-how-to-delete/, it occurs to me that it would be good to have a subtitle deletion button on the metadata screen. As multiple subtitle files are allowed each should be able to be deleted individually. Below is an example of what it could look like but I know the programming is a lot harder than me placing Xs on a screenshot: Let's say a subtitle file is downloaded temporary for a visiting friend say, it would be good if it was easy to get rid of it after they have left the building and flown home and I can think of no better place than the Emby metadata screen rather than hunting around for .srt files. And I am no novice but even this has caused me issues as you can read in my linked post above. To tell the trust Media Browser before it and now Emby have been so thorough over the years I was quite shocked not to see a deletion feature there. Lloyd
