It would be great to be able to configure channel groups in LiveTV, which can be selected in the guide view (maybe as tabs) so that we can more quickly navigate to preferred channels using the d-pad. Perhaps start with Favorites by default, but be able to add custom groups (similar to collections) which we can add channels to (Network, Premium, Basic Cable, Kids, News etc.).

I've tried WMC, KODI, PLEX, and EMBY. I found EMBY very impressive. I happily paid $99.99 to help developers to continue improving this awesome EMBY software. Anyway, I really love Live TV, Schedules Direct Guide, and its built-in recording capability. I use SiliconDust HDHomerun Connect device that carry CC (Closed Captioning for Hearing-Impaired) data. Sadly, this Live TV does not have a feature to allow us to enable CC. My son informed me that he recorded one TV program and used an external VLC player and it worked fine. It's much a hassle using the external player. Otherwise, we have enjoyed movies with perfect subtitles. It is my sincere hope that Emby developers will improve Live TV to include the essential CC capability in near future. Keep up with your excellent work on the software. Thanks, David

Add the ability to start a show late, end a show early. ie: Late Night Talk Shows. I'm only interested in the interviews. Don't record the monologue (start :15 minutes late) nor the musical guest (end :15 minutes early) These shows are intentionally scheduled to start and stop at "the 07s". Having this new ability would eliminate some overlap errors with traditional start and stop times at "the 00s". Kevin

As seen in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP/2 and lot of other IT sites.... it is known that HTTP/2 is coming as upgrade to HTTP/1.1 and has tons of benefits over the 1999's deprecated 1.1 version. Some sites already implement it (Akamai, Cloudfare...) and benefits on speed are remarkable. Probably is too soon to implement it on Emby... but I'd like to suggest it to be something to be studied, because soon we will be hearing more about it.

hey what I'm really missing is support for audiobooks. Simply saving the resume point for those mp3s would be absolutely enough, no need to fetch metadata etc.

Is it possible to add a bitrate for users that are direct(whatever) something? It's good info, and readily available. Thanks

What are the chance of getting the ability to bring up the guide when using the excellent Virtual TV plugin in Playlist mode? Really ruins the experience to have to stop playback just to see what else is on "TV". Thanks!

When browsing movies, etc, add to the "AZ" Sorting pull-down menu, an additional option to "Sort by Filename" This then orders all the movies in the raw, default way, such that they match the file system on which the actual media files are stored, on disk. This order is generally quite different to the default sort order, as movie titles are sorted ignoring the articles: A, An, The... and also some movies have different names displayed, especially foreign films. The file systems sort by the basic pure alphanumeric order.

Yes, I agree that Kodi is too fine grained. I would say that 0.25 seconds incremends would be ideal as even that amount can make a noticeable difference, but at least 0.5 seconds increments would be better than the current 1.

Hi Guys, Here we go with the dreaded Documentaries folder... Setup as mixed content in library and I'm happy with how it works. Just wondering if possible to display the 'Latest Documentaries' on the Home Screen similar to how the library view shows it - TV-Docs are in a single season folder and Movie-Docs are obviously a movie poster/folder. Hoping this would carry across to the AndroidTV app too. Right now if I add a TV-Documentary to Emby library (with a full series worth of shows) my home screen shows all the episodes instead of a single TV Show style entry. Is that possible? Currently music files must be organized into Music/Artist/Album/filename structure for the server to organize the music catalog correctly, however, the one single folder (Music/filename) structure is not supported and I hope Emby developers take it into account, I stopped using Emby for my music because I don't really like it, it's a little bothersome to maintain, at least for me. I know there are windows applications to help admin that folder structure but that's not the point. I count on your upvote for Emby developers to take this suggestion into account. Thanks.

Using an Nvidia Shield, I noticed there is no Genre view in the Music Video content type. I want to have a way to get to Concerts, which I have tagged all the Concerts in my music video library. This view is available in the Web interface, but not Android. Seems all the other content types have Genre except this one. Please add it. Thanks PS, would also be nice to add Genre as a default view.

My emby app is not working on my roku ultra. Both the regular and the beta show the splash screen then closes out to the home screen. The other rokus and apps in the house seem to work fine. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

Hi, I recently purchased a lifetime membership and use emby generally with my nvidia shield. Now I have few samsung devices like the note 9 and tablet. To my surprise emby cannot do HDR playback on these devices. I know a read something way back about the issue but it seems like it has never been resolved. Samsung is a very popular smart phone and make one of the best andriod tablets. Will this ever get resolved? In comparison plex does not have this issue nor kodi etc. On side note will emby ever implement a hdr to sdr tone mapping when transcoding? Thanks Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk

This is a quick suggestion. Currently because the Audiobook section of Emby is mirrored after Music, on the Audiobooks page, there is a heading for Albums. Please replace this with a heading for "Books".

Hopefully this is a simple request. Would it be possible to include a percentage indicator on the scan slider on the Library window where the scan button is located? Interestingly enough, I noticed there is a percentage indicator for the scan completion on the Dashboard, but there is not a button to start a scan on the dashboard. Currently because Audiobooks are mirrored after the Music category, there is a heading on the Audiobooks page for "Songs". This should either be removed or replaced with a heading that lists chapters. Personally I'm fine with just removing it. However it may be useful to other users to have a master list of chapters. So if listing all chapters would be useful to you, then reply this thread and express your interest.

Currently, on the main screen, when you see latest audiobooks it is a random track. Request is to show and be routed to the album screen.

I would like to have the ability to play random songs by genre on Android TV. This feature is already available for the web and android players. Currently, for example, when I pick a genre like "Classic Rock" on Android TV my only choice is to select a specific album in that genre. I'd like to have the ability to long-press a chosen genre and be presented with a menu choice to "shuffle" the genre.

I hope one day Emby can play music from downloads if a download exists for that song (especially when I only downloaded the songs from within the playlist and don't have all the songs from that album downloaded). So if i am in the playlist view and the download button is ticked (highlighted blue) because i have downloaded that playlist, I would like it to play from the downloaded file. That way when I drive through a dead-zone my music is not interrupted.
