I setup a new recording and this time it showed up in the "Recorded TV", but it would not play the file. All I got to see was a black screen and the progress wheel, I left it alone for 20 minutes, but nothing changed. On another computer I was able to get into the Emby settings, so I copied both log files. They should show at least one recording, but there are another 12 recordings setup from before there was any problems. I also could not watch live TV, got the same black screen and progress wheel. ffmpeg-directstream-f9d34a86-df1c-4c60-81f3-89945cbb9f94_1.txt embyserver.txt

This issue didn't start until installing onto the new machine either. Which is unfortunate as now that I have ample storage space on the home server vs when it was on 3 different locations clouds+local. During consolidation I was ok losing the newest media tab to it having to add it all again but now for it to get messed up by removing duplicate or lower resolutions is quite frustrating. I will likely just group the versions instead of deleting. I'd love if it would like plex auto group media regardless of where it is folder wise. I know emby is supposed to do this if they are in the same folder Say Movies/ABC/Res1.mp4 res2.mp4. Granted I've never seen that work. I have a lot of movies in a single directory as well so that doesn't work for auto grouping as they would technically be in the same folder and have at the end appended the resolution.

If I close the emby app, I cannot start it again w/o uninstalling
ebr replied to phi303's topic in Android TV / Fire TV
That's very odd but I'm glad y'all figured something out. -
Got it, although it looks like 10142 is the SD ID on zap2it.com, so my approach still seems to work (in the US and Canada). I'd try for CBBC (SD and HD are different too) 29324 or 83281 and CBeebies 29325 or 83283.

For the heck of it, I set the size to 100000. This appears to mitigate the "Too many packets buffered for output stream" error. I still have the test movie playing. 12 minutes in, with transcoding humming along at 270fps, and Segment at 2850. Is this a viable solution? I'd like to understand more about the -max_muxing_queue_size ffmpeg parameter in the context of how it affects Emby transcodes.

This is all that is installed. Nothing manually either. On the old machine you couldn't install any plugins so never bothered trying any. It would just error out about a directory but nothing about permissions or as to why.

yes they do. -
Have you ever installed either of the top picks or watch history plugins?

We plan to provide more control over sidebar content in future updates. Thanks.

I spent a bit of time troubleshooting this on my Synology DS2422+ today and eventually got FFMPEG to actually process my .ts files after amending my custom.sh as below. Posting in case it helps anyone else. It's running an AMD CPU, although I'm not sure if that was the cause or not. I'm very new to this so had to piece it together as I went along. ffmpeg -i "$INPUT" -hide_banner -loglevel info -max_muxing_queue_size 512 -c:v libx265 -brand mp42 -ac 2 -c:a libfdk_aac -b:a 128k -ignore_unknown -map 0:v -map 0:a:0 "$OUTPUT" -probesize 100M -analyzeduration 100M ffmpeg -i "$INPUT" -hide_banner -loglevel info -max_muxing_queue_size 512 -c:v libx265 -brand mp42 -ac 2 -c:a libfdk_aac -b:a 128k -ignore_unknown -map 0:v -map 0:a:0 "$OUTPUT" -probesize 100M -analyzeduration 100M

Why is the LAN access address not displayed on macOS with Chrome?
Luke replied to gejianya's topic in General/Windows
Hi, that's strange that your server didn't detect a LAN ip address. Please attach the emby server log: How to Report a Problem Thanks. -
thanks for letting me know. it seems to try to hold a few seconds so maybe its just hardcoded or whatever... was hoping it'd be a hidden setting in a file somewhere

there is no live tv buffer setting

Hmm still no solution fix to this problem? Chooo
-
could be a little trick to catch this happening but I'll do my best and report back. Does the "enable throttling" setting have an effect on live tv "converting to a compatible container" ? I'm guessing its safe to assume that theres no setting for buffer length of livetv?

Then this should probably be moved to the Docker/Linux section for starters as this is an issue with your server. I know for the longest time 13th gen stuff was broken AF with Docker. I do not know if they were resolved.

[How-To] Emby Server on Windows Server with IIS as Reverse Proxy with Automatic Certificate Renewal
TolkienBard replied to TheITJedi's topic in General/Windows
Is there someplace I can poke about to find the modern update to this guide? I would really like to get my server up and running using HTTPS and not have to deal with regularly having to renew stuff. However, when I get to the step of: Install IIS (Internet Information Services) I run into issues. First off, Server Manager was not showing up. I finally figured that one out and got all the stuff installed. But then, once I launch it and attempt to "Add Roles or Features", I am greeted with the popup that there are no servers selected and the Emby server does not show up as an option to add. More importantly though is, MS Web Platform Installer has been discontinued. The links all over the place for finding a copy of it (from a third-party that is not MS) are eitehr dead or for version 3.0 which crashes after opening. I have less than zero beneath the hood skills when it comes to this sort of thing, so I was very glad to see such a detailed guide. Alas, I have hit a brick wall and am unable to proceed to finish the project.- 104 replies

If you're dead-set on using a RAM disk, I've had success with the following: - Allocate 40GB - A cron job that runs every hour (here is my specific cron job): 0 * * * * bash /home/isamudaison/clean-emby-transcode >> /home/isamudaison/log/clean-emby.log 2>&1 This executes the clean-emby-transcode script and outputs to a log file specified Here is the `clean-emby-transcode` script: #!/bin/bash docker exec emby sh -c 'find /transcode/transcoding-temp/ -mmin +360 -delete -print' This deletes any file modified over 360 min in the past (assuming a docker container that uses the specified path). This falls apart if someone leaves a live tv stream transcoding forever (event shows like super bowl/oscars/whatever), I suspect 80GB would be an ideal size for a RAMdisk.

ah ok - I'll have a play - thanks for coming back to me.

AndroidTV shows the 'Up Next' preview and includes the next episode name, the other apps just show 'next episode'. Functionally both do the same - but I believe AndroidTV also triggers on the CreditStart marker (if it exists), not sure if the other Apps do that .. yet ? -
Running this now. Found 20 duplicates and I can pick what versions to remove. https://github.com/kristiankoskimaki/vidupe It still causes the kept versions to show up at the front of the list. I'll do a full library scan once this movie is over otherwise the log is full of this every single second. 2024-05-15 00:00:07.139 Info Server: http/1.1 POST http://192.168.1.151:8097/emby/Sessions/Playing/Progress.
