    embyforkodi (next-gen) 10.X.X support

Yup, sorry, it was the dependencies that had me confused. I figured it out, got it installed and I'm back in business. Thanks for the hard work maintaining this addon!
  3. Version 4.9.0.16 beta Library view music videos - Artist links are no longer available and the top menu nav tabs no longer shows Artists. Is this a planned change? The media title pulls the file name, which does usually have the artist's name. But, previously there was an artist link under the song title. I took off the artist's name from the title, so that it was not shown twice. Updating the server with no artist link means the user cannot see who the artist is. In order to change it back, I would need to turn on File name, which is not the default, so new users would not see this. Since default metadata cannot be changed for all new users, turning on File Name is not a good fix. Or I could refresh the metadata to bring the full file names back in to the song title. Dropping the Artist link means the full list of Artists is also no longer available from any link and it is very difficult to even get to the Artist page anymore. You have to either search for the artist or click the Artist's name link on a media page. This seems not very user friendly? What does everyone think? Should the Artist link on the media card and the All artists nav tab come back for Music Video Library?
  4. The important part is I have a clear, workable path forward to fix all these other missing thumbs. Thanks for your help, Happy2Play.
  5. I can only guess the Linux version is behind on the new server changes but dev will have to comment as ET I believe will be going to a new version/app soon/eventually per other topic.
  6. So, I was able to add the thumb via url from an appropriate tvdb image in Web, but not from ET. I'd like to know why ET is messed up, and why Linux is in 3.0.19 when windows is on 3.0.20. As for the images, that make sense now, although I'd like emby to handle these images a bit more elegantly, but that seems like a tough ask, putting us in AI territory, not easy algorithm territory. The best solution for now I guess it to update fanart website when thumbs are missing. Here is the complete current log for Luke. The GUID image error on ET happened at 1519 hrs log time. embyserver_complete_image_guid_error.txt

Roku autoplay next episode has suddenly stopped working

Let's see it is off topic for me to mention live TV but it is not off topic for others to promote Jellyfin. Also my mention of live TV was not the first in this thread. There have been several. I guess some people just have to complain when they get confronted about their, and other's, stupidity and double standards. But my post was in reference to all the jellyfin references throughout this thread. People can use what they want but promoting a bunch of crooks is NOT something I like at all so I will post as I feel and if you do not like it you can ignore me, as I will you.

Roku Playback now failing regularly and predictably

For the record, my issues with Roku, both subtitles and skipping/rewinding appear and disappear with no apparent reason.

    Downloads Vanishing?

It use to be a good feature but it seems to be happening randomly from my downloaded shows and has become unreliable for android app.
  11. Ah, good point. That was ET. Lemme try Web.
  12. @Lukewill have to comment on that and may need to see the server log also. As this in general I believe will point to a database issue, unless it is a platform specific issue. As I just added that image without issue Was this done in ET or Web Client?
  13. OK, so searching for an image for a Thumb won't work if fanart doesn't have one, and that is the only place Emby will check. I tried adding the image from url (https://artworks.thetvdb.com/banners/v4/series/400248/backgrounds/65ce98280a2cc.jpg) but emby errored: GUID should contain 32 digits with 4 dashes.

    opensubtitles plugin not working

Ugh, I think this might be. Indian government is notorious for blocking sites aggressively. They even banned VLC's website without appropriate reason. I just routed my Pi's internet through VPN and I am able to search subtitles now! Apologies for wasting everyone's time. I didn't think to curl check the specific endpoint https://api.opensubtitles.com/api/v1/login earlier partly since I was able to ping and traceroute to api.opensubtitles.com from my Pi as well as reach it from my browser (from a windows machine on same network): Interesting observation: When I try to reach this login URL on Mozilla Firefox on my Pi, I am unable to reach it, however when I navigate to this from chromium on pi, it works and I get the above message, not the below one. I tried playing around with user agents with curl -A, but that seem to not affect anything. I'll try to find a easy workaround for this as I do not want to funnel all my emby traffic through a VPN. Open to suggestions if people have any.

  16. So the confusion here comes from image type as the only Thumb provider is FanArt, while other providers many have the image you want but are not Thumb images and require manual intervention getting the image url and appling yourself. As image restriction are slightly different across providers as a Background image technically should be textless.
  17. Note TVDB images apply the same as TMDB as Backdrops are not Thumb images so you would have to assign/upload via url. CSI: Vegas - TheTVDB.com
  18. I redid the tests with Theater & Web client, here are the results. embyserver_debug_new_tests.txt
  19. There is no Thumb image available on provider site as thumbs are only available on Fanart. CSI: Vegas | TV fanart | fanart.tv So you only option is manually applying one via url. Example as Emby currently will not use language backbrops at all as they technically are not backdrops. CSI: Vegas (TV Series 2021- ) - Backdrops — The Movie Database (TMDB) (themoviedb.org) So in the end sound like Emby is working correctly as provider did no have an image. But specific image types may only be available via one provider as shown in source dropdown.
  20. OK, I'll see about debug logging. ETA: Debug enabled, re-running tests.
  21. During this thread, I've been trying to get an image to use as a thumb for CSI: Vegas, by searching for a thumb. As you can see in the first log, absolutely nothing was being logged for any the that *many* attempts, with either client. In the since midnight log, the are two instances where I told emby to refresh all metatdata, which it appears to have done, but that had no impact with respect to showing me images from tvdb when I searched. That isn't the only show either; it happens to *many* of the shows added in the last 3-4 months.

Roku autoplay next episode has suddenly stopped working

This is off-topic, you should start a thread about live tv.
  23. Okay may need debug logging also to actually see your manual query. example 2024-05-05 12:47:40.430 Debug Server: http/1.1 GET http://‌localhost‌:8091/emby/Items/71382/RemoteImages/Providers?X-Emby-Client=Emby Web But specific examples are needed.
  24. And your specific example as Emby is getting images from TVDB and FanArt per that log. What is Emby not getting?
  25. And yet, it happened. The first file is embyserver.txt over the course of this forum thread. The second is embyserver.txt since midnight last night. Also, not that it matters, but I don't use the emby UI to get to embyserver.txt. I shell into the server and tail/folllow or cat the file as required. As you can see, nothing was written to the log about me editing images, searching, or even changes pages in the UI while we've been having this discussion. embyserver_life.of.thread..txt embyserver_since.midnight.txt

Roku autoplay next episode has suddenly stopped working

People keep mentioning Jellyfin like it has no issues or the issues it has are small and of little consequence. But the fact is that Jellyfin has a plethora of issues and instabilities and they even started with Emby's code and the removed they credits of the Emby developers so it appeared that the code was invented by them which it was NOT. As far as the issue discussed here goes I see nothing wrong with the way Emby handles multiple streaming. I just wish that Emby would break out the nearly useless, for me, Live TV functionality somehow. Live TV is the least important function that Emby provides but it seems to produce 70-80% of the issues people run into. I do use a live TV app but it is NOT Emby. Sometimes I think Emby and Plex and even Jellyfin make a tremendous effort for live TV but most of that effort is useless and there are many much better live TV apps for computers that do not overburden the devices involved. I just wish that live TV would become nothing but sports and the such. Everything else is better and more convenient as streams and it also is much easier to consume content that way. My voice is unimportant and so is everyone else's. So Emby will do what they want.
  27. new graphics card installed and so far, everything is back to normal. thanks for all the advice.
