Today we pushed a release for our Windows Phone app (8.0.66.0) which sees a massive improvement in streaming and what the app is requiring the server to transcode.
So what does this mean? Basically, if you have a video in your collection that your Windows Phone device would be able to play natively (as if you dragged the video onto your phone from your PC), then the server will know that it doesn't need to transcode the video, it can do a direct stream to your phone. We announced a while back that Emby for WMC would not continue to be supported beyond server version 4.6. With the release of 4.7 getting closer, we just wanted to issue a gentle reminder.
A small update to the previous release has gone out. This one will start as a beta and hopefully move along to stable by the end of the week. There is one important fix and a few new improvements.

We've updated our Chromecast app with new features. Now, anytime you play an individual episode, the following episodes in the series will be automatically queued for easy continuous play. This makes Emby for Chromecast the perfect choice for binge watching your favorite series. Audio and Subtitle Selections Now Remembered
When you play a video that you've already played before, Emby Server will now remember your previous audio and subtitle selections, and will apply them automatically.
New Episode Auto-Play Setting
Emby apps will now auto-play next episodes, but if you'd like to turn this off, we've added a user preference setting under Playback.
