Today we pushed a release for our Windows Phone app (8.0.66.0) which sees a massive improvement in streaming and what the app is requiring the server to transcode.
So what does this mean? Basically, if you have a video in your collection that your Windows Phone device would be able to play natively (as if you dragged the video onto your phone from your PC), then the server will know that it doesn't need to transcode the video, it can do a direct stream to your phone. Whilst this new release doesn't have a list as long as your arm with changes, the major change it does have should impact anyone who streams videos using the app. This release has moved to a better streaming method with the server app, which means the stream is better, and the server is more performant.
Also included in this release is the ability to remove old local servers from the list of servers (if you've rebuilt your machine for example).
Finally, the app is now enabled for Portugu

I know, I know, it's been a while since the app last got updated, I apologise for this. I also apologise that this is mostly a minor update too, but it's still quite an important one.
So what's changed? For the most part, this update is all about bringing the app up to speed with all the recent under the hood changes that have been going on with the Media Browser server, making sure it's ready for some future updates to the server itself.
That's not to say those are the only changes, the
