Luke 37071
It appears you might have enabled the download images in advance option for your libraries. As mentioned in the help text for that option, that will cause library scans to take considerably longer. Try turning that off.

Luke 37071
The build in the first post has been updated. It will now use the regular admin user. Thanks guys.
lukemelville 0
Turning off the "download images in advance option" solved the issue. Metadata and library scan complete. Then I turned "download images in advance option" back on and Emby downloaded all the images, although it was pretty slow IMO. Only had a couple of TV series mismatch. Easy to fix. Got two plugins installed: Trakt (3.1.1.0) and Auto Box Sets (1.1.1.0). Both working perfectly. Seems to be a very stable package. No crashes or errors. Log attached if you want it. Thanks for sharing this package, as a first time Emby user (long time Plex user) I'm pretty happy with my first experience. emby-log_161017_0855.txt

sectune 9
Dear sensei Luke, I updated to the newest package on the first page from yesterday. Runs like a charm, now it even starts instantly without having to close and start the app several times form the qnap app center. All the errors I mentioned are gone but one:when I try to manually restart the server from the dashboard, it just hangs up on "Restarting Emby Server" prompt without ever coming back. I will attach the log when I'm home from work. Otherwise it's perfect, thanks so much Luke! Edited October 16, 2017 by sectune
PenkethBoy 2063
I have also just update to the 33.9 package and update was painless (i had the emby server stopped when i did it) I added some plugins and tried a restart - but the server also failed to restart for me as well - i left it 10 mins or so to give it a chance restarting from the app centre also worked for me Thanks for changing to the admin user and adding a Emby node to the process view in the GUI

joelang6126 9
Try removing the kodi sync plugin as well as the restart plugin. Luke I have reinstalled the Kodi plugin as its a critical part of my system. Without it I have no use for Emby. Ill see how this goes.

Just launched Emby and hit restart - Emby hangs at restarting prompt although it reports proper shutdown in the log. I guess the start command is not sent again after the shut down happened but I am not a pro ;( server-63643791321.txt
catNUC 0
I Installed Emby 3.2.33.9 on my TVS-871 (i7) and I also installed PC Emby on my Intel NUC-skull canyon (i7) with Windows 10 (for comparison purposes). Late Friday night installs... Easy (qpkg) install for the TVS-871 and it built out the massive libraries (media and personal) with incredible speeds. I’ve tested playback (via clients) on an Apple TV, Roku, IPhone, IPad, remote (via port forward to http) as I haven’t set up the SSL yet. Played all sorts of high bit rate stuff on 264, 265/HEVC, AAC, AC3, DTS, etc. and it’s been great. I haven’t messed with the hardware transcoding stuff yet. So far, it’s working rather flawlessly and dramatically outperforms my Plex Media servers (also on NUC and QNAP NAS). The QNAP Emby Server is performing better than the Windows 10 Emby version. (Both have about the same CPU ~ 10,000 passmark). I will continue to tinker and report, but so far so good.

Fuechslein 3
There is an issue with the specified https port in the emby package. In conjunction with the checkbox to only use https in QTS you cannot use the open button as that then directs you to the https page of emby. But if its the first time starting and you have to setup emby, https doesnt work. I'd remove the https port in the package and then let the user use the checkbox to redirect http to https in emby instead. That way the open button always works and you dont have to provide a self signed cert.I couldnt keep myself from trying the new build, despite it not having volume selection. Guess what. It crashes again after a certain time. No plugins this time. I only setup a ssl cert and added one library with only one folder. I removed the old package and verified nothing was left over on the filesystem before installing the new package. I attached both logs, before (3) and after (4) enabling ssl. Thats the only two logs I have before the first crash. Log (3).txt Log (4).txt Edited October 17, 2017 by Fuechslein
