mwongjay 64
Read your log again! The stream is detected as interlaced and that's why transcoding with deinterlacing happens. Yeah I realized my mistake now. In his earlier post, #165, is what I was looking at then did a search for yadif which appeared in another log posted. I thought they were the same. FordGT90Concept 61
Recordings playing back are transcoding and it's causing frequent pixelation/jumps. FordGT90Concept 61
Was working good until today. I send the app logs via account Lynn and attached server logs here. 1) Tune to football game (9.1). 2) It plays for a few seconds then does it's usual pause. 3) It never comes out of the pause. 4) After maybe 30 seconds, it goes to black screen with loading wheel (no text/error message). 5) It loads a static image of the game and doesn't come out of it. This issue is not observed via HDHomeRun app nor is it observed via watching the same channel via browser. Appears isolated to Android TV app. The remux logs show exactly when it happened (again, don't know why it is remuxing--SHIELD should be able to handle it as is). livetvbroke.zip Edited October 28, 2017 by FordGT90Concept
ebr 14925
This looks like a problem with ffmpeg to me. Did your server just update? The player is saying the item is "stuck" and there are a ton of errors being spit out by ffmpeg. The item is remuxing because you disabled the direct stream option in the app in order to enable seeking live TV.
FordGT90Concept 61
This looks like a problem with ffmpeg to me. Did your server just update?I'm just doing whatever Emby Server beta gives me. Last modified: 6/18/2017. Emby Server hasn't updated it in over 4 months yet this behavior is new. Equipment hasn't changed anywhere either. Live TV was working perfect a week ago. The item is remuxing because you disabled the direct stream option in the app in order to enable seeking live TV.Oh, so normal then? If I enable direct streams it wouldn't let me pause anymore would it? Nice to know why it's always making them at least. FordGT90Concept 61
It did it again, uploaded logs under user Lynn again. This time, it happened exactly at 1pm. The weird thing is the program didn't change at 1pm (started at noon and will be going for hours yet) so it shouldn't have popped up guide information at all. I also noticed that when it does work, it's like changing playback speed with the picture: sort of like hitching but not quite. May be related. If it is FFMPEG again, how do I go about updating it? The weird thing is the program didn't change at 1pm (started at noon and will be going for hours yet) so it shouldn't have popped up guide information at all. Okay, now I'm confused... we weren't talking about the information panel at all so, exactly what, "did it again"...? 1) Tune to football game (9.1).2) It plays for a few seconds then does it's usual pause. 3) It never comes out of the pause. 4) After maybe 30 seconds, it goes to black screen with loading wheel (no text/error message). 5) It loads a static image of the game and doesn't come out of it. ebr 14925
Okay, this is the same error. The player is reporting the "playlist is stuck". I imagine we'll see the same errors in your ffmpeg log if you post it. You saw the info panel pop up because, once playback failed, we tried to re-start it but that failed as well. I really don't see anything the app can do here. Whatever is going wrong is in the feed coming into it. So I'm not sure what changed to cause this. If you re-start the channel immediately, does it work?
FordGT90Concept 61
The first list (initial report): no. Tried three times, and all three failed. The second list (just posted): yes. Edit: Live TV seems very fickle right now. Updating to 3.2.35.1... FordGT90Concept 61
Seems to be fixed now. 3.2.35.1 maybe?
FordGT90Concept 61
Apparently not fixed because it did it again. Backing out and in again, it was able to work for hours. Edited November 3, 2017 by FordGT90Concept
Luke 37096
The beta server has some nice improvements for NVENC transcoding, for those interested: https://emby.media/community/index.php?/topic/56088-slow-hardware-decode-with-hevc-and-nvidia-p4000/?p=548844 Thanks. Luke 37096
And it's still isolated to the android tv app?

Luke 37096
Is it direct playing?
FordGT90Concept 61
Live TV which usually gets remuxed I think so no, not direct. It's trick play enabled.
ebr 14925
And it is with hardware acceleration enabled on the server?
FordGT90Concept 61
Sorry for the late reply. Hardware transcoding is enabled for the tuners (because they're EXTENDs). Server itself doesn't use hardware acceleration (does it on CPU).
FordGT90Concept 61
Live TV doesn't work more than it does anymore. Try to tune to a channel, it spins, see a pop up about having difficulty with video or audio, it spins, it asks again, repeat. Sent logs from SHIELD via user Lynn. Attached server logs. broken.zip

FordGT90Concept 61
But enabling direct stream disables trick play, yeah? Edited April 14, 2018 by FordGT90Concept
ebr 14925
But enabling direct stream disables trick play, yeah? Correct. I know this may not be what you want ultimately but I'm trying to isolate where the actual problem is so this is for a test. Thanks.
