simono5 21
Hmm, I don't see MB3 in the communities tab... I have "any publisher" and "yes I want to see beta versions" checked. Pete Sorry Pete I can't help you there. I understand that the package won't work on all Synologys. Maybe those that it doesn't work on can't see the package to download....not sure. rabbit1543 105
Can anyone speak to which cpu platforms are compatible through the synocommunity . I've got a ds1512+ which has an Atom d2700 proc. Currently i can see the Mono package but the Emby/MB3 package is not listed. Additionally when browsing the syncommunity repo via the web Emby/MB3 is not listed. https://synocommunity.com/packages Edited March 20, 2015 by rabbit1543

AlwinHummels 134
I've a DS415+ avaton and also see no Emby server/MBS on the Package list but I'll patiently. Spaceboy 2557
hi, i have a 2413+, i'm going to pop out after this and get another 2Gb ram to put in it. i installed the spk from the link on the github page. currently when transcoding the cpu runs at 95% which is expected as there is no throttling available yet. once transcoding is complete it drops to 5% the main problem at the moment is that if you stop watching a transcoded stream ffmpeg continues so you then get a build up of several running at once if you flick between videos. hopefully this will be fixed soon as i cannot see how to stop a process on diskstation without restarting edit. 720p h.264 cpu is around 32% i'm also going to use the new sync plugin to put as much roku compatible material on google drive to take some of the pain away, also may be able to lay off transcoding to networked pc's if i understand where some of the discussions around here are going so it all looks promising! MacBraun 0
SynoCommunity install instructions below. Step 1Log into your NAS as administrator and go to Main Menu → Package Center → Settings and set Trust Level to Synology Inc. and trusted publishers.Step 2In the Package Sources tab, click Add, type SynoCommunity as Name and http://packages.synocommunity.com/ as Location and then press OK to validate.Step 3Go back to the Package Center and enjoy SynoCommunity's packages in the Community tab. I followed these directions and got mono to install with no problem on my DS413j. I downloaded the spk that was linked in this post, went to manual install on my package center, browsed to the file, and it told me that the file had no digital signature. Can someone tell me what I did wrong or can I just not install it on my 413j? Thank you for the help!

rabbit1543 105
Thanks, I had a feeling that it was manual install for now. There were posts regarding using the synocommunity for mb3 install. The posts are a bit misleading. I already have an mb3 server which is accessing media stored on my nas. Even though my nas doesn't have the processing power that my current mb3 has, im a bit curious how it will work as an mb3 server.

Angel1835 0
Hi, could you explain how to compile Mono 3.12.1 or redirect me to a post that explains it ? I tried but I got some error with undefined references. I have a ds214play. Thanks for your help. I've done that with the Cross compilation framework to create native packages for the Synology's NAS from SynoCommunity It can be found https://github.com/SynoCommunity/spksrc You have to setup a Debian 6 32 bit system and follow the readme The package only provide a version 3.10 of mono. I chnanged all files to 3.12.1 changed the md5 hashes aso. finally after some hours of try and error everything seems to work fine. I've tried to post an howto but i'm a little less of time at the moment. Cheers, Angel
nolatall 0
HI, OK, no need to recompile mono after all. I just installed mono 3.10.0-4 from synocommunity and mediabrowser from https://cytec.us/spk/. I got the evansport package since I have a ds214play. I had to reboot my router to get rid of the error below. I also added a rule to port-forward 8096 on my router (not absolutly sure if it is necessary however). Hope this help others. 2015-03-29 12:07:14.4037 Info - Main: Media Browser Command line: /usr/local/mediabrowser/share/MBServer/MediaBrowser.Server.Mono.exe -programdata /usr/local/mediabrowser/var Operating system: Unix 3.2.40.0 Processor count: 4 64-Bit OS: False 64-Bit Process: False Program data path: /usr/local/mediabrowser/var Mono: 3.10.0 (tarball Sat Mar 28 10:14:04 UTC 2015) Application Path: /volume1/@appstore/mediabrowser/share/MBServer/MediaBrowser.Server.Mono.exe 2015-03-29 12:07:16.7259 Info - nolatall 0
However I have some issue with the subtitles on my video. I download separate srt files. Sometimes several subtiles are displayed together and the timesamp is also displayed. But they are mainly correctly displayed. Anyone has the same problem please ? Pirlo1966 22
Okay, installed it on my DS511+ server is running and I installed 2 plugins. Now I get the message to restart the server to finish updating. But how do you do that? I cannot find a restart button or something like that in the dashboard. Probably a dumb question I guess. I stopped the app on my synology but after doing that the app wouldn't restart so I had to reinstall again. Edit 2: I stopped the MB app a 2nd time in package center and again it is impossible to get it up and running again.
