Emby client (Android TV) on Nvidia Shield Pro 2019 is skipping lines from srt file while Emby for Android on Shield and Emby for Android on an Android phone is not doing that. Maybe this will help you in debug: In additional tests, Plex client on Shield is having the same bug! Haven't find the time to test Jellyfin but why 2 different media servers' clients having the same bug on the same place. (Skipped lines from srt files are at the same place for both clients) From the attached subtitle. 87 is missing from video screen: Quote 85 00:05:09,070 --> 00:05:10,280 B i n g 86 00:05:10,280 --> 00:05:13,790 O o o o o 87 00:05:10,720 --> 00:05:13,790 gizemli sesler ve konuşmalar duymuşlar. visproduction 243 Posted November 7, 2024 Posted November 7, 2024 85 ends at 00:05:10,280 86 starts at the same time. this results in doubling up of lines. 85 ...text 86 ...text I think there is a built in time out for subtitle times that overlap. The error is that a ending time should be at least 300ms before the next starting time.

So we need to report it to Google? Where we can see the Exoplayer version and compare? I can't use direct Android app inside the Shield because it only allows to play 1 minute playback. While in Smart Phone Emby Android is full version without paying anything -and how that is possible I don't understand' the same Emby for Android inside Shield asks for Subscriptionwhich I can buy maybe in Black Friday sales. And also Android TV version in shield not asking for membership but one-time purchase for app. I have installed the Android TV version to the Smart Phone and bought it from there. But now Android TV version on shield still saying "Trial version will end in 17 November". And regular Android version on Shield still requires "Subscription". Really I didn't get the payment policies. Because all 4 clients of Emby on Shield + Smart Phone is opened with same account.

Most players even Emby's other version can fix it automatically on the fly why would I do that manually for possible hundreds of subtitles today and future? The reason I am using .arr stack, paying opensubtitles, considering paying Emby is the reason to make everything automatic and hassle free. Not for every episode I will sit and be watch that subtitle source maybe badly constructed and then do manual work on that. Then copy the subtitles back to media folder. And watch 20 minutes of anime and then for the next episode..No. It will be better not only for me but for every other Emby customer.
visproduction 243 Posted November 8, 2024 Posted November 8, 2024 The overlap for subtitles is by design. Media directors can force multiple titles to be on the screen, at once by overlapping times. The next subtitle will appear below it. Perhaps this is what the director wanted to have with their subtitle timing. 1

Only the clients on Shield Android TV version are not able to do it. (both Emby and Plex) The direct Android version of Emby is already having this feature, I hope the solution wouldn't be to difficult for devs?

I didn't even notice there was 2 versions of the app at first. It was a mere chance. When I first setup Shield and searched for Emby, one app came up and I have installed it right away. This is not a good user experience. There could be lots of potential customers/users that are not aware of 2 different apps and the one that comes in search is lacking behind and only security / bugfix updates.
