Pixelpaule 4
Yes i did and i got the message from mozilla that the server/website is not available. I use emby on my mac mini for a long time and i know a little bit about emby and it works fine. But on ubuntu emby doesen't start. Are there any log files at ubuntu that might helfen? It works. After a reinstall of ubuntu and emby the server starts. At the second installation i haven't used this tool to create a bootable usb stick: http://www.linuxliveusb.com. Possibly Linux Live has caused an error by creating the bootable stick. Edited July 10, 2016 by Pixelpaule

mlpaul 0
Hello all, Iv'e been running Emby Server for about 9 months now, and recently ive ran into a little issue regarding playback of certain audio codecs (AC3). Whenever i try to stream anything through the web client (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, IE) that has the AC3 audio codec i get the "There was an error playing the video." Through the legacy Emby Theater application i can play the media just fine so that tells me that the files are fine, but it seems to be an issue whenever i play media through the web clients. Im running Ubuntu Server 16.04.1 and Emby Server 3.0.6020.0 Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!

I would disable QuickSync and/or look into updating ffmpeg on your system. If you can't update it on your system, you can always try downloading it from here: http://johnvansickle.com/ffmpeg/ and then setting it up under Playback -> Transcoding
mlpaul 0
Hmm. I remember i changed the Hardware Accleration in hopes that would fix it a while ago, and now when i try to change it back to "None" and click save, then go to restart the server, its back on the QuickSync. Any ideas?

Luke 37064
That doesn't really prove anything, it just says that perhaps there was some kind of style failure after restarting the server. Try removing the custom css and seeing if you still see the same failure.

richardbigg 1
Cinema Mode... Include trailers from older movies... Works great, but occasionaly, it tries to get a trailer that isn't good, and it breaks things. Such as this. My daughter tried to watch Milo and Otis... It played the streamed trailer for babe, ok, then it tried to get the Young Black Stalliion, then it crashed out of play back... See logs below.. But my realy question is... how does it determine which trailers to play, it seems to play the same ones every time... Where are these preferred trailers stored? Can they be deleted so a new set appear? ----- 2016-08-22 21:42:38.8849 Info HttpServer: HTTP GET http://10.0.0.5:8096/emby/Users/232943f0bd80482daa87f3303a363425/Items/7c48cc97b153a7026e187628d2d200ae/Intros. forty37 0
Hello - been lurking, now seeking help. Just installed Ubuntu 16.04 Server on a fresh machine and followed the instructions to install emby. The install seemed to go fine but when I attempt to start it .. nothing. Looking in /var/log/emby-server.log I see the following: [ERROR] FATAL UNHANDLED EXCEPTION: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object at MediaBrowser.Server.Mono.MainClass.Main (System.String[] args) <0x411b20e0 + 0x00225> in :0 Could not load signature of Patterns.Logging.ILogger:FatalException due to: Could not load file or assembly or one of its dependencies. assembly:System.Runtime, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b03f5f7f11d50a3a type: member: exception inside UnhandledException handler: Object reference not set to an instance of an object exception inside UnhandledException handler: Object reference not set to an instance of an object Any suggestions would be grand. Thanks! It will work if you install mono-complete. Looks like a dependency was missed in the latest update. "sudo apt-get install mono-complete" I'm sure it installs more than you need, but it will work. Edited September 1, 2016 by rlw6534
