Last week Marshmallow was released for the nVidia SATV and after installing and testing Emby everything worked very well. Last night my wife and I were able to watch shows and we had no problem. Today my wife went to watch a movie and it wouldn't play. We get to the login screen, go in and find a movie, select the movie, choose play, and then it comes up with a gray screen. This happens for anything I select. Where can I look for logs to help troubleshoot? I have tried connecting with Emby on my LG G4 and it played fine. I tried using the web client from a Windows 10 box and it played fine. I have tried factory resetting the Shield, reinstalled Emby, and it still does the same thing. It actually hangs the Shield so I have to go the Home screen and sometimes kill the app. I can run the HD Homerun app and Sling TV from it just fine. Any idea on where to start would help. Thanks to anyone that can offer assistance.

Hello, I am quite new to Emby and am very impressed with what I have seen so far, I am running Emby Server 3.0.7300.0 on Windows 10 Pro, the same machine as NPVR 3.8.3. As far as I can tell there are no problems on the NPVR side of things as I can browse the guide and watch streams locally and through the HTTP server. The problems I am encountering are: a) My guide data is jumbled only in Emby, BBC ONE West shows guide data for Channel 4, Channel 4 shows guide data for Kerrang! Radio. BBC Two shows BBC 4 Data etc. When I click to play BBC One West, Channel 4 plays - matching the guide data. It appears that only the names are mixed. b ) I can no longer play any streams from Emby, I am still able to play them from NPVR. I have tried Web, iPad and Emby HT clients and no playing at all. I have made no changes since I could play channels about two days ago. I have attatched the log file, I have difficulty understanding it but have found this entry: Unknown Bitrate @ 2016-10-08 20:33:03 I have searched around for fixes but all I have found is a couple of other people with the issue but no fix. I would greatly appreciate any help as I am really enjoying my Emby and NPVR experience so far, If any more log files are needed let me know and I will post those. Many thanks, Fred Boniface. Edit: I have also found a transcode log for a live tv attempt, it is also attatched. server-63611514212.txt ffmpeg-transcode-e245424b-26fd-435c-958b-0909a0b2feb5.txt

Certain video files wont play through Emby Server and Roku 1 player
pcman772 posted a topic in General/Windows
I am having a discouraging problem where certain video files streamed from a Emby Server system running Windows 10 through to a television connected Roku 1 device. Many times the video file won't play and would the media browser software on my roku device kicks me out to the home screen. Not sure what I am doing wrong here since other files play perfectly without problem. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Regards, Mike- 3 replies

Hi all, I am currently in the process of revamping my home theatre setup and came across media browser yesterday. I really like it! It integrates 90% of what I would look for in a media centre - which far more than the competition (resume play across devices, web interface, slick dash, editable metadata via server or web interface, correct detection of metadata, list goes on), It's also got partner approval for ease of use! I have stumbled across an issue though, so was hoping someone could help. I am running media browser server version: 3.0.5271.29451 on Windows 7 64-bit. I started out on Windows 7 for my client side, which seemed to work well for the most part (except some occasional video issue, but I think this might be solved with <UseCustomPresenter>false</UseCustomPresenter>) The problem is that I have opted for my client to be Win 8.1 due to options I can set on my box for increased boot time so now I am running: Media browser theatre version: 3.0.5265.16010 and the windows version is 8.1 64-bit. The interface loads fine and starts to pull through content for the dash, but when I go to a particular film whether via the folders or the Movies section, I get an error at the top of the screen: Music is able to play fine through the folders. This issue is not present using the web interface, so I do not think it is a server issue. Here is the log: http://pastebin.com/ebddWcdM Any ideas, as Media Browser would be my ultimate HTPC solution if I could just get this fixed
