Hello How can I optimize Emby so that the system can handle many music albums? I have about 340GB of music. That means Emby must display 7450 folders and 92047 music files as mp3. However, Emby does not cope with this amount and hangs, or can not play the music or crashes when scanning, etc. An idea would be Emby only for music on another vm to set up, because in this instance are also all the movies and series with it where I never had problems. Thx for help

It would be nice if there were an option to optimize media with a single click (or select an option to optimize a library or a folder). Optimization would transcode the existing media into the most efficient format (whatever Emby considers most efficient, such as H.264 or H.265) keeping the original settings (size, subtitles, languages). Plex kind of does it, but it's a pain to replace the original video with the optimized one (unless you want to keep additional copies, which wastes space). (Before anyone suggests using Handrake for this, yes, it's possible to do it outside of Emby, but it would be so much easier if this option were available.)

Does Emby have an "Optimize" feature to pre-transcode files?

Plex has the "Optimize" feature, where pre-transcoded copies of files are stored for later playback on a streaming device, like an AppleTV. The benefit is it doesn't take real-time transcoding for the target device, allowing for useful transport controls (thumbnails during forward/reverse scrubbing). Does Emby have an equivalent feature? I'm trying to figure out whether Emby or Plex or some combination of both are the right solution for my various viewing scenarios. Thanks.
