Hello guys, I know there is a standard way to backup, but it is only available for premium, and as I only use it for myself, I don't see the need to get the paid version, but there was a way to make a backup manual, for example go to the windows appdata and copy the folder that are there, and then if you format the pc just play it again in the same place? would it work that way? the backup would be more to keep the user created along with what I've already watched and also the metadata of the files, for example series name, episode name and etc, so you don't have to recheck everything again and have to manually mark what Already watched. Because I'm going to be buying a new machine, so since I'm going to have to reinstall everything again, I didn't want to have to do all this work again, since everything is already pretty organized.

I have been doing some manual updating of some of my nfo files (updating outside of Emby, so I can batch edit). I am finding that the only way for Emby to read the new nfo, is to remove the video file, library scan, and then re-add the file. Am I missing something here? I can't see an option to read the nfo, without doing the above. If I select 'edit metadata', the original medata is displayed, not the new metatdata

Hi guys, because there seems no way of the new apt repository getting real. Now I want to manually update to the latest version. It is possible to directly update to 3.5.3.0 or do I have to make each step manually? Also is there a complete tutorial on how to do this? I am on Ubuntu 14.04 Server and have some experience with Linux. In other threads I only can find snippets of a tutorial mentioned in problem descriptions. So no real tutorial. Somebody has the required steps here? My plan (But only a draft): - Backup using plugin - Backup /var/lib/emby-server - Do apt-get purge emby-server - Remove apt repository from sources.list - Download latest *.deb from emby.media - Install using dpkg - Copy backup of /var/lib/emby-server to /var/lib/emby (I remember reading somewhere that this is the new directory) Did I forget some steps or do you have suggestions/recommendations? Sincerely, hvt
