Hi, So I have a question about the Emby Live TV and DVR with HD Homerun Prime and cable card using Spectrum. I had PLEX and it would not play/record most of the Spectrum Cable Channels as they were DRM protected, they were fine on the HDHomerun Prime but not on the PLeX server. So I checked and everyone kept saying Emby but after spending an hour reading threads here I am still unsure if Emby Premiere will play or record DRM channels. I am not talking about encrypted channels like HBO, I know the difference. Can someone just answer the basic question. With my current setup will Emby Premiere allow me to view/record these DRM channels from Spectrum via my HDHomerun Prime? Thanks, Randy

So, I am now a paid member of Emby! Got the LiveTV abd DVR working with my HD-HOMERUN tuner and a shiny antenna picking up three "Over The Air" channels, with a TV guide to boot! Love it! When we playback our recorded TV shows on the newer Samsung TV, the audio and video are badly out of sync. I searched the forum for this issue in DLNA but didn't find one. I'm guessing I need to tweak my transcoding profile for Samsung, so if someone can offer some advice that would be great. The same TV show will play fine on my PS3 via DLNA. A bit of system info: Emby Version 4.2.1.0 FreeBSD version 11.3-RELEASE-p3 Samsung - 1st gen Tizen OS I think it is. HD Homerun is not transcoding and file output is mpegts

I have added my HDHR Prime to Emby (manually, via static IP as Emby couldn't find it automatically). I am using the Emby Guide data. When I attempt to tune a channel, I get a spinning circle. After maybe 30 seconds or so, a second spinning circle appears, and a timer bar appears at the bottom of the screen, but no matter how long I wait, the stream never actually starts. If I logon to the HDHR web UI while this is happening, I see that a tuner is in use, so the request is getting to the HDHR, and the HDHR is serving up the requested channel. Once at this screen, there is no way out. I have to close the Emby tab, which doesn't release the tuner in the HDHR. The only way to free up the HDHR tuner at this point is to bounce the Emby NSSM service on my server. Logs attached - I have removed my public URL, username, and remote IP - I just replaced them with "<<PUBLIC URL>>, <<USERNAME>>, and <<REMOTE IP>>" - the logs are otherwise unmodified. Running on Windows Server 2019 - remote access behind nginx reverse proxy - streaming stored content works. When I attempt to play a Live TV channel, I get the loading circle go around continuously and nothing plays. The channels are all on my HD Homerun which are not working. In troubleshooting I have updated the HD Homerun to the latest firmware and I have confirmed that other application can use the turner. I have also rebooted both HD Homerun and Emby server as well as verified the correct DeviceAuth is being used by Emby for the tuner. This has been happening for about two weeks now. I have been having problems with Live TV playback being very erratic. Many times when I start to play TV it either never starts playing, or plays for 1 second then freezes. This problem happens playing to a web browser or to a chromecast. Sometimes it will play fine. I have checked CPU usage when it does work and it never goes above 50%. I am using HDHomeRun with 3 tuners. Running on Server 2012 R2. Quad Core Processor 4.2 Ghz 8 GB Ram Emby Version 3.0.5781.3 I have 1Gbps connections to my computer and the HDHomeRun and the Server machine. The chromecast is connected to a 5Ghz wireless. The transcoding directory has it's own dedicated hard drive. I have been trying to fix this problem for weeks if not months and recently thinking that the built in tuner support would fix my problem. But I am still having the issues. I am also having general server issues that I will post in a separate thread, however will post log files in both in case there is some kind of connection with the issues. I am including the latest transcode logs from when I attempted to play Live TV. Also to note, that the most recent attempts to play Live TV generated no log files at all. If there is any other information that could be useful please let me know and I will update accordingly. Perhaps it would be a good idea to add some text "BUFFERING" or "TRANSCODING" or something with a % progress to see if it is actually doing anything. After rebooting the server, I now cannot scroll up and down the channels list. (reloading the page fixed this though.
