  1. @ebr@Luke @all Direct Play MPEG4 on Emby not possible for Fire TV Stick and Nvidia Shield. This function is part of the basic equipment and already existed, when or will there be an update? Cross-loading of standard apps is not manageable because, firstly, there are too many clients and, secondly, not all users can technically implement this. I've already had a few conversations with you about this, but somehow we can't get a clear statement. Transcoding for a codec that also offers direct playback is also not the solution, as 70% of users certainly do not have a NAS with the function to transcode. Thank you for a statement on how, when and if we will soon get this again with the fire tv stciks and the shield. Thanks Seger
  2. Hello, I bought the Amazon USB / HDMI dongle, the Amazon Fire Stick - Basic. (Https://www.amazon.com/Fire-Stick-Basic-International-Version/dp/B01ETRGE7M/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&qid=1534066629&sr=8-11&keywords=fire+stick) It is an excellent product and I highly recommend it to everyone. I then downloaded the "Emby for Fire TV" app and PAY IT for to use it and to give you support. It works very well, however I would like to ask you if it is possible to insert the possibility to see the trailers (because I have not been able to use them) as you can do with the pc browser version of your program / server. I remain available for information about it and thank you for any reports / suggestions.

    Audio Sync Issue

I'm running the latest beta (v1.2.20a dated 02 July 2016) on my Amazon Fire TV Stick and I have an issue All my Movies have their audio sync out by 3100 (milli seconds I assume). I can resync the audio because there is an option in the player :-) however it is a bit of a bind having to change the delay every time I play a film. As an aside the option to sync the audio is missing from the player when playing TV shows which seems inconsistent at least. Can we have this option whatever is playing? Once I have amended the audio delay for the film that is playing then the audio remains in sync with the video with no problems which suggests the stick has enough power to decode etc. Same movies work fine on the PC either played in media player via the samba mount or using the web client. Also I seem to remember that previously there was an option to set the size of the buffer (in seconds). I wonder if increasing the buffer would help with this issue. Any thought and assistance gladly received F
  4. my server is the windows server with latest dev versions. AFTVS is up to date Emby for AFTVS is up to date too. videos are MKV with x264 encoding and AC3 or DTS sound Problem: our TV has only stereo, video files are multichannel. when i play a video with suround sound i hear only surround sounds but not center or L/R. if i choose compatible mode inside emby app i hear everything, but there is a delay of 2,7 seconds. if i set delay, the video starts to stutter every 5-30 seconds. our AVR has no HDMI and the purchased HDMI 5.1 Audio Extractor will be delivered in 4-6 weeks. is there anything i can do to fix that?
  5. I have two files which for test purposes I have encoded using FFMPEG: ffmpeg -t 10 -i bunny.mp4 -map_metadata -1 -codec:v libx264 -profile:v high -level 4.0 -b:v 1000k -c:a aac -b:a 128k -ac 2 Bunny1.mkv ffmpeg -t 10 -i bunny.mp4 -map_metadata -1 -codec:v libx264 -profile:v high -level 4.0 -b:v 1000k -c:a aac -b:a 128k -ac 2 Bunny2.mp4 Bunny1.mkv seems to require transcoding to playback, where as Bunny2.mp4 does not. I understand there might be some sort of issue with Emby on the AFTVS and MKVs (which is not an issue with Kodi on the AFTVS). I don't understand why the video would be re-transcoding when transcoding for the stick. Wouldn't it make sense for the Video (and Audio) streams to be copied by ffmpeg (with only the container format being changed)? If we could just change the container format the CPU overhead for the emby server would be MUCH lower. I'm guessing the answer might be that we need some control over keyframes to allow for HLS streaming, but if direct playback of the MP4 is possible, is it not possible to use this container format and not use HLS streaming? The AFTV is set to 40mbps and to play via VLC. I see Trans/I for Bunny1.mkv and Direct/I for Bunny2.mp4 Below is some more info that might be helpful... 6. What can I say here... well its great the menus are clean and simple, in line with the fire TV sticks own so users are at home straight away Its fast and responsive and looks good on the screen But it is limited to 3GPP (.3gp) and MPEG-4 (.mp4) (video anyway) (source - https://developer.am...specifications) Any other video needs to be transcoded and when you want to watch 1080p video with 7.1 sound not even my server can do it just maxs out the CPU My server is a Fujitsu Primergy MX130 S2 2 CPU x 2.99 Ghz 32GB of RAM If you have android TV or the fire TV (not stick) then you can install VLC and Emby can use it to play other media with out the need to transcode, I am told this works wonderfully (not yet seen it first hand) But at the moment no VLC for fire TV stick so no real use for this app its such a shame as the app is great and I was about to buy a Fire TV stick for all my rooms and replace my old Windows 7 Media Centre hosts If any one knows of a way around this I would grateful for the information and would update this straight away
  7. We recently decided to unlock emby on our fire tv stick so we spent the $4.89 and it isnt letting us use it... does it take a while or did it not work?
  8. Hey Emby Community - I'm new to the server and the app, so maybe there is something I am missing... When I play files on my laptop, iphone or ipad via the web app (http://app.emby.media/index.html), the videos all play in full screen, either letterbox or 4:3 depending on the movie. I purchased a Fire TV Stick the other day and downloaded and paid for the Emby app. Everything works really well, the navigation screen and movie detail screen both show up full screen, where the entire TV screen is covered. Once I select Play from the movie detail screen, the movie begins to play, but there is a border all the way around the movie. The overlays, such as the movie title, menu options and info are still displayed in full screen, but the movie itself is framed in the middle of the screen. Changing the aspect ratio on the TV itself is a temporary fix, but once back in the menu or movie library, everything is cut off. Is there a setting on the server side I am missing? Is there something with the VLC player within the app that needs to be tweaked? All of my files are VOB files by the way. Hope you guys can help. Thanks, Cory
