Yes I did use Dolby vision and it works well also I should mention no buffering at all. Of course key here is to have an up to date router helps at least wifi 6 does help which is what I use. I do not have wifi 6e. But with wifi 6 smooth.

i should also mention there have been several updates to the stick since it was introduced and has helped.

Is it possible to download a copy from the emby server for offline watch? We have several devices running Kodi with emby next gen. Some of these are mobile devices, like a tablet. I am looking for an easy way to store a copy of a selected movie or episode for offline usage.

If a movie has no thumb, use Primary as thumb

If a movie has no thumb, backdrops should be used as thumbnails in Kodi because that's what happens in Emby.

Thumbs and backdrops have same aspect ratio but Posters have different aspect ratio that's why using Posters as thumbs looks very ugly. Have a look at first movie Gulmohar.usingposterasthumblooksugly.png.5b6300f18dbc5c9d9e2f4f79e3a20894.png

Does Gulmohar have a backdrop (or thumb)? Check it on Emby's WebUI.

Yes, it has backdrop but not thumb. And in Emby Webapp, backdrop is being used as thumb.

OK, I'll check that. Only if both not exist, Kodi/the plugin should use poster/primary as fallback.

I wrote Embuary version by mistake.  But I have edited my reply now. It's 9.4.12.

The issue will not be fixed in 9.X but it is fixed in 10.X

Hi there and thanks for everyone's hard work on this addon.

One question, should i turn off "update library at startup" from the kodi system menu  ?

Does the addon need this  ?

No need to enable. It's only for native Kodi content (not Emby's content).

Thanks.

I currently use native mode for the addon, you mention though that addon mode is suggested. Is there an actual benefit in using addon mode vs native mode apart from the trancoding ?

Would it make the addon function more reliably in this mode ?

Beside extra configuration for native mode, addon mode much better tested than native mode.

Hi there,

I've been setting up an AM6B Plus for testing CoreELEC (21.1.1 cpm build). Obviously, I need this great add-on (thanks by the way, @quickmic😀). I got it running and it connected to my emby server. Together with Embuary it feels already almost like emby.

However, one thing doesn't seem to work right now (might of course be my own mistake or oversight). I have several movies as multiple versions in a single folder. For instance, Star Wars in folder "Star Wars (1977)", as Star Wars (1977) - 4K77 - UHD.mkv and Star Wars (1977) - Special Edition (2004) - SD.mkv. Only one version is being picked up. Version manager in Kodi also shows just a single version.

Is there a setting for this (if supported) that I haven't seen/found? I haven't used Kodi in a long time, but I understand that Kodi 21 now finally supports multiple versions of a single movie.

Thanks!

Both plugin versions (10.X and 11.X) supports multiversion. 10.X will offer the version selection on playback start, while 11.X supports Kodi's "new" multiversion selection (for movies).

For episodes and musicvideos is still the classic method used as Kodi does not support it.

Thanks! In my case, this is just for movies. I'll give it a closer look and test again.

What path do I take to get to the "Next Up" listing of TV shows?

I'd been using EmbyCon in the past and have switched to Emby for Kodi, and can't find it anywhere.

I tried one or two of the dynamic lists that looked reasonable, but haven't found it yet.

Thanks for keeping this going! I do like being able to use Emby as my "master" and keep up, no matter what device I watch on.

As far as I remember, "Next up" is called "Next Episodes" in synced nodes and dynamic nodes.

"Continue last played" (synced nodes) is also very similar, but a bit different.

...or is your question about how to embed nodes in your skin?

This is what I'm after. Unfortunately, it's not working as expected.

From the Kodi Main Menu, I select Video, then scroll through a bajillion entries to Emby Next Episodes, and I get what I want:

02Video-EmbyNextEpisoderesult.thumb.jpg.317ba9682199ef9d73f8ca66f287f1fb.jpg

BUT, When I go to set up a main menu item that will take me directly there, it shows nothing:03MenuSetupVideo-Nodes.thumb.jpg.7e0248a6947341eb24f0d6caf8c45f30.jpg04NodeSelectNextEpisodes.thumb.jpg.7b990c86cc7e2af5d6e9fb897e996c5c.jpg05MainMenuItemresults.thumb.jpg.8847f475f17d49c3b290482fbc15b428.jpg

Can I not use it this way? Again, this is the AON Silvio skin, but I wouldn't think that the skin should matter...

I did pick this one first, but it's not really what I wanted, though I guess it'll do if nothing else works.

Thanks for the quick response!

I guess this is really what I was after. I did read that part, but it didn't sink in until after I'd posted all those screen shots.
