RaisonDetre72 5
Has anyone else had the issue of Emby downloads on Android never fully completing successfully? I've been troubleshooting this on and off for almost a year now and would love to get to the bottom of it. On any 4G/LTE network or WiFi that is not my home network, Emby will constantly reset a download, never fully completing most of the time. At home, so long as I'm on my WiFi, it works like a charm. Halp!
Vidman 589
Yes, I experience the same
Luke 36816
I think this is just what happens when there's a network blip. I think what we're going to have to be able to do is recover and automatically resume the download.
RaisonDetre72 5
I may be out of my depth, but doesn't Android, itself, have it's own Download Manager-service that could be used? Its the same service that Play, Chrome, Android OS, etc. use and it's always rock solid in terms of network hand-offs or drops/delays for me. Not sure how able it is to be integrated into the Emby Android app (again, out of my depth). Here's what I'm talking about: https://developer.android.com/reference/android/app/DownloadManager.html
RaisonDetre72 5
Bump. Still having this issue, can't think that I'm the only one. Any update on a fix or next steps?
Luke 36816
Yes I'm sure there are others who might run into this when their network changes or when there is some kind of network instability. What we need to be able to do is restart the download by resuming it and that's just something we haven't added to the app yet. It's planned for the future. Thanks.
