syralk 12
Yes the procedure is in the first post.I did try on a virtual machine and got a error.I use mini and did not install anything. I got a error but I'll install it on real one. It could be great to have a image like libreelec. daldana 47
Does mpv need to installed separately? I just finished using this .deb on a clean install of raspbian and tried to run emby, but couldn't show any Live TV or movies. I looked a bit deeper and it doesn't look as if mpv player was installed. Thanks.
Luke 37064
No, all you need is to run the commands in the first post. Thanks.
denz 426
I tried it and deinterlacing still not working on h264 channels. Also when you play a video it starts for a second and then the screen goes blank for about 4 seconds and then video starts again. I am really not having luck with MPV can't use it on the pi and can't use it on my intel htpc because of the deinterlace issues.
Luke 37064
We need to make this more clear but make sure to select the rpi-copy back option as that's the only one that supports deinterlacing.

ellnic 26
Is raspian lite ok or does this require the desktop install? You can start from Raspbian Lite if you like, but it needs X and at least a Window manager. If you don’t want to set all this up choose the desktop image. denz 426
As ellnic said but it is easier to just install the full version. I just installed the fresh copy of raspbian but it is not working it is just displaying a spinning circle. haraldov 10
Any idea's with the blank screen for video? @@ebike, I had the same issue with blank screen for video and only sound when i tried the Emby Theater x86 deb package on Lubuntu 18.04 64 bits. haraldov 10
We now have an X64 version @@Luke. Feedback about the Emby Theater X64 version deb package. I have installed ET x64 version deb package on Lubuntu 18.04 and Xubuntu 18.04 (x64 both) on a Intel NUC (NUC7i5BNK). I do not know why, but I had problems to play video on Lubuntu (blank screen for video and only sound), but with the Xubuntu I do not have this issue. I am going to survey this issue. Does mpv need to installed separately? Mpv is a dependency with the Emby Theater package so the mpv package are installed from the Ubuntu repository. hts@nucpc01:/etc/apt/sources.list.d$ dpkg -s mpv Package: mpv Status: install ok installed Priority: optional Section: video Installed-Size: 2241 Maintainer: Ubuntu Developers <ubuntu-devel-discuss@lists.ubuntu.com> The mpv version are a little outdated, but VA API is supported which I need on this Intel nuc. hts@nucpc01:/etc/apt/sources.list.d$ mpv --version mpv 0.27.2 (C) 2000-2017 mpv/MPlayer/mplayer2 projects hts@nucpc01:~$ mpv --vo=help Available video outputs: opengl : Extended OpenGL Renderer vdpau : VDPAU with X11 wayland : Wayland SHM video output xv : X11/Xv sdl : SDL 2.0 Renderer vaapi : VA API with X11 x11 : X11 (slow, old crap) null : Null video output image : Write video frames to image files tct : true-color terminals caca : libcaca drm : Direct Rendering Manager Mpv is easy to upgrade using this ppa: https://launchpad.net/~mc3man/+archive/ubuntu/mpv-tests if you want to do that. With Xubuntu 18.04 on this Intel Nuc Emby Theater are function great. Thanks for the effort. Edited August 13, 2018 by haraldov
daldana 47
Well, I downloaded the file as directed in the 1st post, it saved in /home/pi/Downloads folder, I tried to run the command exactly as written sudo apt install ./emby-theater_3.0.1_armhf.deb and get an unsupported file error. Changed the command to read sudo apt install /home/pi/Downloads/emby-theater_3.0.1_armhf.deb and it installs but still doesn't play anything. When I run /etc/apt/sources.list.d$ dpkg -s mpv, I get a bash error saying No such file or directory. I get same error message when I run /etc/apt/sources.list.d$ mpv --version. So it doesn't look like mpv is being installed at all. Any ideas?
rechner123 12
I have the same error. I installed with right click on the package and click on packet install. Is this also possible? daldana 47
Ok, I spoke too soon saying that it was all working fine, I started to get random freezes in the middle of watching something. So I started from scratch again with a clean raspbian install but this time as well as the regular update&upgrade commands, I performed a dist-upgrade. Then I continued with the instructions in the first post and this time everything seemed to install on its own. I've used ir-keytable to get my remote working and so far all seems good. I'll keep an eye on it just to make sure it stays that way.
Luke 37064
@@denz The error you posted was due to low gpu memory (they didn't restart after install). rpi-update fixes the shared library error.
