I don’t see any. I tried a few series.

Did you put the studio images in the correct folder as mentioned above?

As I have tested with Vanilla (in fact all my themes)

Yes but as you see those are in the wrong directory.

As I mentioned in the original post they would need to be \\nas\cache\appdata\docker-embyserver\metadata\general

The "studio" directory was not something I could access anymore or couldn't figure out how to so I moved it to a directory I could in this case "general"

So, just copy the existing contents of Studio to general ?  What should the files be named?  they are all named "landscape.jpg".

I have never even noticed the Studio tab before. I wasnt the original person to ask about it.  I only looked at it because you asked me to.

Yeah that would be the idea.  I never checked if landscape.jpg works typically we use folder.jpg or folder.png.

But if studios is not something you care about then you don't have to waste your time with it.  I just assumed since you updated the version it was cause you were interested in the studio icons showing again and so I just asked to ensure they were working for you.

Looking back (some years  :)), a bundle for all themes was available. Is that still the case?

Yeah the old MB allowed for bundles but Emby did not however I can still manually do it.  So you can use the following like for a 50% discount on a purchase of all themes.

@@throgmorton just finished all but two movie libraries to get the studio icons working in server version 4.0.1.0 with EMC 3.317 Plus your latest theme versions.

But what a workload that was redoing some of the existing icons, creating new ones, then making sure that the general directory has the same entries as the studio directory. On top of it making sure there is studio entry in the metadata manager, plus for me in the XML files. Then finally checking their visibility in the theme only to find out that they are too dark and need redoing it is a never ending work to make the display look just the right way and has the WOW factor.

And finaly for some content there is no indication in the actual media file, nor did the metadata scrapers find any studios. Then of to imdb.com and find the studio or production company there. Pfew

I stick with straight white logo's that way if they need tweaking it can be done through the custom MCML settings I added which allows you to pick a color to place over the studio icon to meet your themes needs.

As for the missing metadata, I guess it depends on the movie/tv show but I've always been able to get those.

I also have been able to find the relevant studio or production company logos but some are very difficult to find.

Kind of agree with the white color, but where do I find the settings for overlaying a color for the icons?

Kind of agree with the white color, but where do I find the settings for overlaying a color for the icons?

This was done when I gave the user the ability to create custom skinning.  By default I include 3 skins Default (WMC Blue), Midnight (Black), and Alaska (White), but the user can simply create his/her own.  Basically you would need to go to the plugin directory and there should be a sub directory called TSoft and then a sub directory called skins.  This is where you will find the default three skins I have provided.  Don't bother editing those as I believe I always overwrite them on boot so the user will always have working templates.  All you need to do is make a copy and rename it to something else and this should be picked up by the theme and placed as a selectable option on the skins menu.  In order to change the color filter simply open that file and one of the option I believe is called StudioColor which I believe is set to 255,255,255 by default which is RGB white.  Simply change this to the RGB value of the color you want and it should apply it to the themes.  Now I don't know if I have fully tested this on every theme view so if one is missing its possible I overlooked it and you would just need to let me know and I can correct it.

Thanks for the help and I will commit this to my slowly but steady leaking memory

I am happy with the Midnight theme and adapt the studio icons to it. Thanks again for all your help. For me the only thing left to do is the weather part. Any way to move the devs to get this sorted?

I guess you will need to sweet talk @@ebr to see if he has time to register with Yahoo! and update the URL.

Been a LONG time user of your themes all the way back to MB.

I've been trying to sort out several problems after the Server update and Emby WMC updates.

I do not see the Studio nor Codec ICONs.  Don't remember if I ever did to be honest.

I followed your instructions above and created a "general" folder in metadata directory on the Server:

5c5c5cb212da8_folderstructure.jpg

But I still do not see them on Emby WMC:

5c5c5cd1158c8_20190207_102241.jpg

Any suggestions?  Also, what about the codecs?

Thanks!

EDIT:

Disregard the CODECs question.  It appears I can only see CODEC Icons on certain themes.  I switched to Malestrom and Kismit and the Codecs appear on those themes.   Still no Studio icons.

Well the view you've posted a picture of (Vanilla) isn't the screen which has the studios show.

You will need to toggle through the Details options at the bottom right to I think its called media instead of summary and there it should show studios if you have the associated folders.

I tried toggling through the Details, but no dice.

In your studio folders what image do you have? folder.png? folder.jpg? Or something else?

It looks like the pics in each folder are actual pics and not icons:

Try changing one specific studio over to folder.jpg or folder.png and relaunch to see if it picks it up.

I looked in the movie.xml file to see what studios were associated with this movie.  I picked one of them (Sony Pictures) and renamed it from thumb to folder and that worked.  But as you can see, the icons are actual pics so they are no legible.  Any way to force something to re-populate the studio icons with something more legible?  Or put another way, is there a way to blow away studio icons since they are all named "thumb" and have the server or EMC create a new set?

My DOS scripting skills aren't that great but I'm sure you can find a script to recursively go through the folders and rename thumb.jpg to folder.jpg.

The amount of screen real estate devoted to icons is dependent on theme.  Typically I tend to allow a height of like 50-60px so when I'm downloading studio icons I tend to make sure they try to fit that.  I also stick to them being white with transparent background so they go together with all the themes and so color filters can be overlaid for skinning purposes.
