Hi, I would like to know if Emby Server will still create metadata in media folders when a movie has different versions. And, if so... how do I get it to create the files, if they don't already exist? I have tried doing a library scan of the affected library.

i setup Emby with defaults, and according to the Wiki, to store metadata on the (fast SSD) applications drive, not the RAID media drive. (This is also general consensus I've seen at AVS.) “Installation · MediaBrowser/Wiki Wiki · GitHub” https://github.com/MediaBrowser/Wiki/wiki/Installation But I've seen recommendations here to store metadata and artwork in the media folders. What's the current thinking? If it's better to store with the media folders, can this be made the installation default? And the Wiki updated accordingly? And a handy new feature would be to migrate metadata and art to media folders if the server setting is changed. This would accommodate those of us wanting to move to the newly recommended setup (assuming it is).

Is there a way to dump all my library metadata into Media Browser XML files before I upgrade to 3.0.5490.2 or newer? With the removal of the mixed movies & TV folder type, I don't want to lose all my data for my anime collection and be forced to rebuild from scratch as I did when testing that "feature" the last time. I know there's nothing inside MB itself for that, but if someone's put together scripts or a small program that will pull everything out of the DB files and create/update the appropriate XML files in my folders, that'd be great to have.

Hi, Need some help please with configuring Media Folders so they appear consistently across all devices. In MBS I have 2 Media Folders added: Movies (with single location) - set as type Movies TV Shows (with multiple locations) - set as type TV Shows The folder structure of Movies is organised as follows: Movies --> English Movies --> 3D (Offline) --> Blu-ray (Offline) --> Kids --> HD --> Foreign Movies --> Blu-ray (Offline) --> HD When viewing Movies via Media Folders on MBC, MBT, iOS iPad app and Android app, the folder structure is accessed correctly per folder level. This means I can access each separate section quickly. And on occasions I wish to browse through the entire collection I can always access 'Movies' which groups all movies together. However, on the Web Client (and Samsung Smart TV app) movies are all grouped together in both 'Media Folder' and 'Movies'. Is there a setting within MBS or Web Client I need to activate to maintain the folder structure access? I've tried un-ticking 'do not group types together' in WC but it made no difference. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
