Hi all, Thanks to advice here I just about to set up my system The server is a dell laptop running i7-4600uCPU 2.1ghz it has 8gb ram and 256gb ssd running windows 10 pro At the moment I have my films on a 256gb ssd via usb3 port, my music and TV are both on the hard drive of the laptop. I have full fibre with a 500mbs line During testing I am using the wifi. It all seems to be running ok. So here are my stupid questions ( I think I know the answers but would like confirmation please) Will it run more stable/better on with the server connected by ethernet ( the main watching device (TV) is also hard wired? Is it more stable to have the media on a usb drive or the hard drive of the server? If its better on the usb would it be better to have the usb plugged into the router? Many thanks in advance

I was running out of hard drive space so i copied all files on one drive to a larger drive. I've edited /etc/fstab to mount the new UUID to the same previous folder location hoping that would align everything. The poster image still shows up in my library but when i click to play i get a message that says "No compatible streams found". I tried adding a 2nd library for the same folder location hoping a fresh scan would clear it up, but now i just get kicked out when trying to start the movie, no message any longer. Hi! I've recently installed Emby on Linux Mint Ulyana (Cinnamon), and there is an issue that i need to resolve. I have all my media (Series & Movies) in an intern secondary hard drive. This hard drive is mounted on /media/user/Multimedia. The problem is that when I try to add a library on Emby, pointing where the hard drive is mounted, it sais "The path could not be found. Please ensure the path is valid and try again." I tried changing all permissions but nothing happened. I also tried to give the emby user the ownership, but it stills not detecting it. I wait you can help me and thanks in advance. Relatively straightforward question, but I wasn't sure if I should leave a certain percent or amount of space empty on each hard drive for Emby? Of my first 8TB (7.27TB usable) external, I'm coming close to filling it up. I have a little less than 1TB of space left, but I feel like I will be able to fill that up in the next few days. For general hard drive use, I have read I should keep at minimum 5% empty (so about 360GB in my situation).

Seem a bit confused with my new server, previous one was ReadyNAS NV+, which was easy to set-up. Just got myself a QNAP TS-451+. Disk 1(which is ssd), that will contain the QNAP OS, Emby, and some other apps. Disk 2 will be for TV Disk 3 for Movies Disk 4 for everything else I want to use maximum storage space, no redundancy (everything is backup up to external hard drives). If for example, the tv Hard drive fails, I want to be able to take it out, put a new hard drive it, and restore from my backup. At the moment, I only have the 2 hard drives (3rd one coming tomorrow) Under storage space, it says static single volumes, and then lists my HD's, but if I select manage, it mentions raid group 1 Is this set up correctly, for what I want? If not, how should I be setting it up (step-by-step guide, if possible) Thanks for your help

Hi, I'm new to using Drive Bender, but really liking it so far. One thing that seems handy on it is the fact it's combined with HD Sentinel now, so I've got HDD monitoring. I've just noticed today that the smart monitoring is saying that the drive status of one of my HDD's is "Bad" but I don't really see anything else on there that lets me know why it's "bad". I haven't had any problems with it or anything, I'd just like to know why it would get this reading. It's the oldest drive that I own, so I'm sure it's only a matter of time before I lose it, but I was just wondering if based on the information provided, if anyone else could tell me why I would get this message in Drive Bender: Thanks, Patrick

For a while now I have been using Acronis Drive Monitor and so far it has performed well especially for being free. It lets me know when one of my drives has reached a certain temperature threshold or some other critical event has occured. I have been looking around for alternatives just to see if there is anything more reliable/better out there because with drives holding all my media I would rather take all the extra precautions possible and prefer the best as I am sure most of you will agree.
