Suddenly TMT won't open. Any idea why? (Not Emby)
Marc_G posted a topic in Non-Emby General Discussion
Hi folks, I routinely rip bluray discs I get to MKV files (using MakeMKV), but I always load the BluRay once in Arcsoft TMT once, so that I can sort out which ripped MKV file pertains to which episode on the disc. You know the drill... play a few seconds from the episode on disc, play a few seconds from the MKV, see if they match, then rename the file into proper SXXEYY format. Easy peasy. Today, TMT 5.2.1.120 won't load. It stalls --forever, or at least 20 minutes-- on the following screen: I haven't added new software to this PC in a LONG time (months) so I know it's not a new software installation. Windows 7 (64 bit) has of course taken updates, along with flash, java... I know TMT is a defunct product, but not sure why it suddenly stopped running. I have tried several things: Killing process, starting again. Rebooting PC, no change. Stalls the same way. Starting TMT with either a disc loaded, or no disc loaded. Then I gave up and figured I'd google it but didn't find much. Apparently some known problems with Win10/TMT6, but I have Win7/TMT5 My only purpose is to line up TV series episodes with the MKV rips from the disc, which means loading the disc menu. Any other tool out there? Don't really want to buy PDVD if I can avoid it, based on the limited use I have. Thanks! -
Scenario: Using EMC (Media Browser Classic in WMC). Loading External Players. Issues: 1. When loading MPC-HC with MadVR from EMC it sometimes starts to play audio only but sometimes plays fine. I either need to right click a mouse (not very reasonable as this is supposed to be all controlled with a remote) to get the file to play or I need to try repeatedly by stopping the playback and starting over from one to three times to get video playback. 2. ISO mounting. I have the configurator set to load TMT5 set for playback for ISO only and I have Elaborate Bytes Virtual Clone Drive set as the ISO mounter in the ISO and Extender tab. I have Mikhano's ISO mounter for WMC also installed. The iso's are not mounting nor playing back, unless I mount them prior to loading EMC which is not good as EMC loads when WMC loads when I Select HTPC on my Harmony Remote. Any assistance would be appreciated.. My logs from yesterday and previously when this occurred will not open correctly and I get the following from ServiceStack: Response Status Error CodeOutOfMemoryExceptionMessageException of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown.Stack Trace[GetLogFile: 1/4/2016 8:54:42 PM]: [REQUEST: {Name:server-63587389501.txt}] System.OutOfMemoryException: Exception of type 'System.OutOfMemoryException' was thrown. at System.Text.StringBuilder.ToString() at System.IO.StreamReader.<ReadToEndAsyncInternal>d__19.MoveNext() --- End of stack trace from previous location where exception was thrown --- at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.ThrowForNonSuccess(Task task) at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.HandleNonSuccessAndDebuggerNotification(Task task) at System.Runtime.CompilerServices.TaskAwaiter.ValidateEnd(Task task) at MediaBrowser.Server.Implementations.HttpServer.HttpResultFactory.<GetStaticResult>d__7.MoveNext() I will try to grab a log immediately next time this occurs but stopping to do something like that lowers WAF tremendously! Thanks.

I just jumped onto the Arcsoft Total Media Theater forum and read the announcement that Arcsoft has discontinued the product (http://www.arcsoft.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=12331&title=did-arcsoft-drop-total-media-theater). All indications are that there will be no further updates to the current release. I've been using TMT for a few years with MBC. It has never been a particularly satisfying journey. I've had all manner of issues with it. One word that describes it is 'flaky'. I paid good money for the damn thing too, including paying for a number of upgrades. The only alternative I know of is PowerDVD. Are there any others?
