User media library access permissions are invalid for new media librar
Happy2Play replied to thsrite's topic in General/Windows
Yes 4.8.6.0 Create a user with limited access/no access. Log in as admin Add a new library with whatever, allow scan to finish login with restricted user and search for newly added item it shows up. (but you obviously have to know what items exist as the library does not show up in My Media.) Search Suggestions also provide links to resticted content also. Any actual access can show items in more like this that are restricted. Now allowing user access to library and doing scan library shows for user. And removing access from that library now properly restricts that content. But other loopholes above still exist but am no longer able to search or see my test file. -

No worries, it's full of unique folders, each containing vacations or events. You select a folder and choose a single clip or use the Play All button.

I've been working on the files with MP3tag as suggested. It seems to be working. In the vast majority of cases, the "album artist" field is blank, not incorrect. Anyway I am not seeing a menu option to change it without removing and re-creating my music library. Are you suggesting I have to do so? Given that the majority of my music files do not have the "album artist" field filled and they were created by iTunes (I ripped my CDs on my iMac when I used to have one and then transferred them to my PC), I think you are mistaken.(A few were created by Amazon, since I recently started buying MP3s from them, and you would be right about those - I don't think they have been a problem.) Also I uploaded my collection to Google Music (now YT Music) and it worked fine as-is.

I'm making the adjustments you said in the other thread, a moment
-
-
When I created my second container in 4.8, the plugin's interface (b&r) doesn't let me access the backups I made in 4.7.
-
In this case, instead of copying from the other thread, I just tweaked it and added the "personal link" to the home.html of the current version of Emby (4.8.6). There was "&emsp" at the end of each link, it looked like this, as I said above: <a is="emby-linkbutton" class="button-link" href="hlink" target="_blank" style="text-decoration: none;color: #D3D3D3;margin: 0 .7em;">text</a>  And then it looked like this: <a is="emby-linkbutton" class="button-link" href="link" target="_blank" style="text-decoration: none;color: #D3D3D3;margin: 0 .7em;">text</a>; However, even with this change, there is still garbage.

New images are being worked on, that should hopefully cover RPi 3 all the way to 5, both armv7 (based on Bullseye) and armv8 (based on Bookworm).
-
FrostByte you absolute legend, that was the issue. I checked the logs and saw access to the folder was denied. So I went to the folder level to make the read/write explicit for emby user and voila!!!
-
Please forgive me if I'm being dense. But what is the reason someone should want to installed an older un-fixed v3.0.16 build with demonstrable problems just because it's built as ARM64 when the very stable build is 3.0.19 even tho it's ARMHF ? ...Addressable RAM? Okay... But I've never seen my RPi4 ET use more than about 700 or 800 Megs of RAM so I'm in the camp that it doesn't make sense to deploy ET on anything greater than a 2Gig version of the RPi4. Or is that because I am not someone who is viewing UHD video on my RPI4s? [TBD, I'll have to give that a try one day] If I can make a suggestion, perhaps it's time that someone on the Emby team revisit the 3.0.19 release repository. I imagine whatever it was that prevented the ARM64 build at the time is not longer a blocker [?], so that the ARM64 build of 3.0.19 can now be added to the list. I found the 3.0.19 build to be nothing but stable and snappy on the numerous RPi 4s I put it on and I was happy to use it. I've since redeployed those RPi4s for other uses. But this convo has just reminded and spurred me to pick a few more 2Gig versions up and put them back in service.

User media library access permissions are invalid for new media librar
Luke replied to thsrite's topic in General/Windows
@sa2000are you able to reproduce? -
OK one last thing. Just to rule these out as possible problems, can you please remove these plugins: 2024-05-07 21:35:27.872 Info App: Loading MediaBrowser.Plugins.TimeLordMovies, Version=19.8.3.1105, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null from /config/plugins/MediaBrowser.Plugins.TimeLordMovies.dll 2024-05-07 21:35:27.872 Info App: Loading GenreCleaner, Version=1.0.25.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null from /config/plugins/GenreCleaner.dll 2024-05-07 21:35:27.872 Info App: Loading MediaBrowser.Plugins.StudioCleaner, Version=3.2.8.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=null from /config/plugins/StudioCleaner. Then restart the server, try again, and see how things compare? Thanks.

Why is Emby transcoding, no transcoding plays fine
Happy2Play replied to xDDxxDDx's topic in Synology
Another guess could be the subtitles delivery method also. -
Unfortuanately there is no way to do this from an old 4.7 to new 4.8 standpoint as you would have to upgrade old to new or migrate entire Emby programdata folder from container to container. Now going forward 4.8+ and you backup everything in theory you can restore into another container.
-
@Adp1975Hi, has this helped? Were you able to contact the owner of the server to restore access?
-
Yes, although if ISP throttling is occurring then you might need to go even lower than that.

Subtitles going out of sync when transcoding sound
Luke replied to psxlover's topic in Samsung Smart TV
Hi, we are looking into this. Thanks. -
In general that is one possibility, but in your case, it looks like you are getting good transcoding performance. Have you updated to Emby Server 4.8.6? Has that helped?
-
I apologize for the frustration, but we did our homework and what we do is consistent with how most music apps work. Yes, Plex is an exception, I get that. But try windows media player, itunes, mediamonkey, or roon, and you'll see they are getting the album artist from the embedded metadata just like we are. I know it seems like a pain in the butt to make these changes to your files, but if you do it once then you'll actually be making your music files work better with a lot of other software besides just Emby.

The folder structure option isn't relevant here unless your "album artist" tags are empty. When they're empty, then this option (if set), will allow the server to use the parent folder name to try and figure it out. It sounds like your "album artist" values are not empty but rather incorrect, so that's why I don't think changing this option will help you.

"Support extras for seasons and episodes" - how does this work?
Luke replied to rexerm's topic in General/Windows
The same folders you were using at the series level can now be placed at the season level. Same presentation as before, but just an alternative option for storage if you wish. Extras for individual episodes are supported in the same way as extras for video files. @sa2000will update the docs. Thanks ! -
looks like a system locale issue to me if the browser is displaying MM-DD-YYYY instead of DD-MM-YYYY. But dev would have to comment as I don't know how all this actually translates.
