Hi. The issue there is that would be ambiguous. An item can belong to multiple collections and playlists so there is no way to derive access control from that structure. An item could be in one collection that is blocked and another that is allowed. So, I'm just trying to provide a way to get to what you really want within the system. Thanks.

Well, looks like issue re-appeared with Downloaded items (IOS, IpadOS) and Android TV client. Track art is fine, but Album art is sporadically missing. Re-tagging/re-scanning, did not help in this case... Embyserver.txt

Let me tweak my response. I think being able to give users specific access to collections or playlists would be helpful to me. If the Devs or others disagree, please disregard. -
The Custom Rating field is used for parental controls only. So if you enter a Custom Rating on an item that is what will be used to compare to the max rating you set for access control.

Agreed, which is why we have the Custom Rating field. If your real issue is easier bulk metadata editing, then that is a different issue.

Hello! Whenever I try to play a high-bitrate file on my device, the playback doesn't want to start. If I just randomly jump to any point in the movie, it starts buffering and stuttering the playback. I thought this was a bandwidth-issue, since I am on WiFi, but when I disable the automatic transcoding in the options for the user, the file plays perfectly. So I thought, okay the problem is the transcoding. But why does Emby try to transcode the file if it plays without transcoding just fine? I thought transcoding only activates when it's needed, but if the file plays fine with transcoding disabled, why does Emby think it needs to do that? I can't just disable transcoding, because when I'm away from home, I sometimes watch stuff as well and then I need the transcoding feature. Thank you for your help!

Ok, maybe I don't understand the custom rating then. Are you saying that if I enter a custom rating, then filter by rating or create a playlist by rating, that Emby will look at my custom rating and ignore the default rating? If so, that would be excellent

Hi. You don't have to do that. Just fill in the custom rating on the outliers...

I'm not saying your suggestion won't work. But I am saying that it is much more complicated to rate EVERY piece of media I have just to fix a few outliers, than it is to just fix a few outliers and then use the default parental guidance ratings otherwise.

PG for a Disney cartoon and PG for Monty Python and the Holy Grail are two very different things. The parental rating system is far from flawless. Emby makes it hard to adjust metadata for items in bulk. Collections and Playlists are my easiest options, hence my suggestion. -
Live tv guide will not update after emby updated

So the do skip plugin is what is making it not update? I reselected the guides and the live tv setup and it worked. This is prior to seeing this about removing comskip. If it does it again I will remove comskip and see if that does the trick. Is there any other plugin like comskip that does the same thing? -
@Luke I mentioned this in another thread a couple of weeks ago, but I too am losing my downloads on my android phone. Had re-downloaded the albums, but alas, when I checked again today, they have all gone again. I use my phone in the car to stream the downloads to the stereo rather than having a data connection through emby.

I believe billing support already answered your questions but a quick repeat here for others: 1) That message shows when you are within 3-5 devices of the limit 2) Just cancel your current sub and start the new one you want. Then you can email billing support to adjust any prices that may be necessary. Thanks.

Hi. Just FYI, this is what the "Custom Rating" field is designed for. You can enter your rating there and, since no provider will have that, it should never get overwritten.

New user A has been added, and access permissions to some media libraries have been assigned to user A. Then media library B was added, and by default, user A did not check access to media library B. But user A can search for or see the content of media library B through recommendations from other media. This makes user A's access to new media library B invalid. However, without any modifications, go to the configuration page of user A and click save. User A is unable to search for media in new media library B. It is speculated that when adding media library B, the accessible media library permission table for user A was not updated simultaneously. You can test it, my server version is 4.9.0.16. I didn't save the log. After testing, it was easy to reproduce the problem. -

The server log is like what you attached to The debug option is in the "General Display" page of the menu you show above. Toggle it on, then you can send the client log via the user menu at the Emby home page.

Hi. Why? When also there are custom ratings you can give items. The parental rating is designed for exactly what you are trying to do - restrict based on content.
