Emby on Ubuntu server, Let's Encrypt, DuckDNS, certbot
sargenthp replied to EarlyOnsetPooka's topic in Linux
The emby user needs permissions to get to the cert. Either need to update the folder permissions to and including the cert. Or move the files to where the emby user has permissions. -
ok , thank you

I am pulling my hair out here. Trying to get certs installed for my emby install on a dedicated Ubuntu server VM in proxmox. Earlier today, I was able to use certbot to get LE certs, but when I attempted to USE those certs, I couldn't browse to or read the /etc/letsencrypt/live/mydomain/ subfolder ... No idea how I'm supposed to get the emby.service to be able to access these files. Got frustrated and installed nobody's favorite reverse proxy host NPM in a proxmox container. Managed to get the SSL certs. Could only get either a 502 Bad Gateway message or a server timeout when attempting to connect from a remote device. Finally got that squared away by having my NPM point to the local non-SSL port and setting the emby remote secure connection to letting the reverse proxy handle it. Yay. Everything works. I'd still prefer to just use certs on my actual emby VM and let it handle getting the cert and renewing it as needed. Not sure if the reverse proxy is really necessary for anything other than that I didn't have file permission issues when I set that up.

HI, this has been resolved for the next app update. You can sideload it for now if needed: Thanks.

HI there, are you inside or outside of your local network when trying to do this?

Hi there, let's look at an example. Please attach the information requested in how to report a media playback issue. Thanks!

How to solve the prompt "Too many errors.Giving up." on the TV
Dwarf replied to noistr's topic in Android TV / Fire TV
I did a factory reset of the Google TV, installed Emby for Android TV and all is good again except for certain subtitles. Not sure why that is but i will continue trying. -

Can't find address to connect to server on Google Chromecast App
Luke replied to kasablur's topic in General/Windows
Hi, that’s strange that a local network address wasn’t detected. Please attach the Emby server log: How to Report a Problem Thanks. -
Right Artist and album Artist are things. You can change the album Artist to be consistent for all tracks while keeping separate artists for each.

Go back to previous style of screen for collections
MBSki replied to tfarrell's topic in Feature Requests
Why are you ignoring us Luke!? You screwed up collections and you don't seem to care at all. It's like you're spitting in our face for some reason. This change really ticks me off because you knew what should have been done to group media typea in collections and you instead did whatever the heck you wanted to, royally screwing up how collections are displayed. Can you please stop being so stubborn and fix collections? -

Hi, yes, more options to control this are possible for future updates. Thanks. -
Hi, yes it’s certainly doable. Thanks.

Clash of the Titans [2010] metadata showing up as the 1981 version lol
Happy2Play replied to SynesthesiaBruh's topic in MacOS
Will require your manual metadata changes after Identification as you cannot query sites with modified names and get positive results and if they are correct the provider will provide original title via metadata. Renamed via metadata -
The question regarding displaying DRM ATSC 3.0 remains. Displaying and recording are two separate issues, I would rather hear from the Emby team than speculation.
-
It appears on of my two ATSC 1.0 tuners failed. The ATSC 3.0 with DRM support question remains.

Yes as this is just for troubleshooting and lets the devs know there is a scaling issue with HWA. -
Comment connecter Emby sur Nvidia Shield une fois téléchargé ???
AloySutagaru replied to AloySutagaru's topic in Android Server
Thank you for your intervention jaysedk. I know the risks of hot switching my external disk between the PC and the shield. I've already broken a disk like that Now I'm careful. My problem: I want to be able to read my media library (which is on the external disk) from the Shield WITH EMBY. I can do it with Nova or Kodi for example, but they don't suit me. Emby is more enjoyable and customizable. Is it possible ? What do I do now that I have downloaded the Emby Android TV app????? -
Hello, I faced this problem myself (using VAAPI on Unraid with an AMD Renoir Radeon RX Vega 6 iGPU) I searched a bit on the Internet and found out that there existed an issue: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/mesa/mesa/-/issues/3524 It is fixed in mesa 23.3.1 and later, but Emby still uses Mesa Gallium driver 23.1.6 by default. So I created a scriptt based on https://github.com/linuxserver/docker-mods/tree/jellyfin-amd to update the mesa driver inside the container: https://gist.github.com/JBou/41a19db4c513d7acc7f6b97d151da7ff And afterwards you have to go to Diagnostic Options -> FFmpeg Options and change the following parameters: Use custom LD_LIBRARY_PATH = /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu:/app/emby/lib:/app/emby/extra/lib Use custom LIBVA_DRIVERS_PATH = /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/dri:/app/emby/extra/lib/dri Next go to Dashboard and restart the emby server. ALTERNATIVELY, just add the following docker mod to the container: https://github.com/linuxserver/docker-mods/tree/jellyfin-amd It is the same script Execute the transcoding tests again, and you should see that the test pass. I think Emby should update the embedded mesa driver to the newest version, this should fix some issues with transcoding OLD: AFTER:

Option to restrict Users to specific Collections
Blam84 replied to Blam84's topic in Feature Requests
Fair enough. Knowing what I now know about custom parental guidance ratings helps. I am one who favors granular control, so being able to restrict people from viewing certain content in an easy way is what I'm after. It seems that tagging those items might be my best option. So in that case, what is the easiest way to tag media in Emby in bulk?
