milostv60 5 Posted December 24, 2021 Posted December 24, 2021 (edited) When using Emby for audiobooks, playback speed resets to 1x every time you reload the app, both web and android app have this issue. Even worse, accessing playback speed button requires 2 clicks more then ideally needed, making Emby a chore to use with audiobooks. Edited December 24, 2021 by milostv60 3 2
Luke 38491 Posted December 24, 2021 Posted December 24, 2021 Hi, yes we may offer remembering playback speed in future updates. We can look at making the button available without the menu, the problem is that our OSD already contains so many buttons that we'll have to look at what to take out in exchange. Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks for the feedback. IMO the simple act of remembering the speed will make the button thing less important. Like if it can be set at the beginning of the book and just stay 2x until the end (including tracks) then we won't need to regularly access it.
kid941005 0 Posted August 2, 2022 Posted August 2, 2022 Why can the playback speed be adjusted, but not maintained?

thatgingerdude 0 Posted September 25, 2022 Posted September 25, 2022 Has there been any progress with this?

dinhtienvu 1 Posted December 11, 2022 Posted December 11, 2022 I really need this future, please consider, I had bought premier 1
TC100 2 Posted December 15, 2022 Posted December 15, 2022 It would be amazing to have a theatre keyboard shortcut for playback speed adjustment! 1
TerminatorAK 17 Posted November 20, 2023 Posted November 20, 2023 Yes, that's a good idea, otherwise we would have to choose again every time

Snowy99 2 Posted May 3 Posted May 3 Are any information about timeline available or a roadmap for this feature? 1
DarkStar1977 82 Posted June 10 Posted June 10 One more for this feature, in my case per tvshow, remembering playback speed when jumping to the following episode. BTW, just as an idea, what about instead of a button and option at library level "Remember playback speed" ? This will enable to just apply to specific libraries, solving the audiobooks issue, my issue and probably this issue: Hope this helps. 1
thodi 1 Posted July 27 Posted July 27 it is really annoying, on chromecast the speed settings gets reset when fast forwarding or when changing subtitles. 1
AlexSol 1 Posted September 29 Posted September 29 It looks like a very low priority thing from devs point of view, taking into account 3 years old topic. For sure there are reasons for it e.g. hard to implement on all platforms something with good UI/UX But maybe anyone here knows whether it is possible to implement something around it with user scripts? at least on web versions? Even to maintain playback speed for an active session would be really nice.
DarkStar1977 82 Posted September 29 Posted September 29 Indeed is very frustrating. Specially because this is implemented for audio, screen size, and subtitles. It's been a long since I coded but does not seems so difficult to apply if it's already applied to the others ....
