Could you please provide server logs when you see the issue of missing subtitles and provide the media info as well See this article relating to the logs and playback issues reporting Are you able to get me a clip from one of these media files with the subtitles where it is not working. Also info which device/app / version the playback was on and if the same issues arises on different clients, When providing clips/samples please zip and upload externally and send me a link to download the zip With regards to the other issue of the position of the subtitles, which client app/version/device was this on and is the problem occurring on multiple apps

ok thanks @ebps01I only have MKV and AAC audio files, it seems to me, with an i9 -14900K you can do up to 18 transcoding with the right equipment, so for me it'll be maxiumum 12 I'd say.

I could go that path but I'd rather be patient and see what Luke finds. I prefer elegant solutions wherever possible.

The Linux kernel used by Unraid would have to be new enough to include support for the 14th gen Intel CPU/iGPU. The next thing is whether ffmpeg in Emby can detect and support this newest generation. Typically both lag behind in Linux compared to Windows but Raptor Lake architecture includes 13th and 14th gen so chances are that things will work. Just not guaranteed.

I have a computer with an I7 4790k processor, DDR3 1600MHZ 32GB RAM, gtx 1630 galax video card, running 30 users without transcoding, my files are mostly in Mp4 AAC audio, so there is no transcoding and it works without many problems I believe with an i9 -14900K and an Nvidia 4090 graphics card will work without any major problems, the secret of emby and placing the files in MP4 and with AAC audio quality. @Dydhzo

I don´t think it is necessary to discuss about wether to use emby or plex in this thread. Just to get this summarized, it would be cool if the following features/bugs could be recognized within a future update for the apple tv app: Add the Character Column on the left/right side while scrolling through a media library Add the support for playing the tv-themes/movie-themes in the background Fix: When sorting by specific options (last added, premiered on, last added episode) not ALL items within a library are being shown That would be all I think which was discussed in this thread. @Lukemaybe there is a specific location where I can place these requests/bugs? If yes, please let me know and I´ll do so.

Problem solved. If someone else have this problem the solution was found checking logs where I found a folder permission problem inside /var/lib/emby/ it was owned by root and not by emby user. chown -R emby:emby /var/lib/emby/ restart server problem solved

If it already scanned those movies once and failed it may not scan them again after the change. Add something new and post a new log. Also, the watches are still set at 8192, so nothing was changed. Redo step 3. Run the task as admin or su and check the values using the cat command to make sure they changed. Or, reboot and the script will run then.

@tfarrellHave you tried Jellyfin, or perhaps something like Navidrome for your music management? In my experience, either one of those does a much better job of album organization regardless of whether your meta tags are perfect or not.

Found the error, there is a corrupt folder in Shows. The scanning stops at this corrupt folder. Now the issue is this folder os not getting deleted by the following command. sudo rm -r - f <foldername> Getting input/output error. Nothing to fo with emby. But still have to figure out how to get rid of this corrupt folder

Yeah, I just have to hope Luke can figure it out. But I don't have much hope because this problem has been around for more than two years.

I only have bluray remuxes so they are all in the proper resolution. In your case then yes, the substitution is not performed because of the difference in pixel height if you have a small amount of movies in such resolution, maybe it’s best to download another version or reprocess it… at least until a real solution is found by the devs.

Glad to hear. I haven't found anything negative so far. Unfortunately, I don't know how it can be activated permanently! I was happy that I found the solution and am just waiting for a solution from the Dev Team.

I'm sorry Luc but nothing works. I was delighted to understand that you need 2 applications (server and client) on the Shield but... BUT downloading the apk (the emby server, that's iright) doesn't work. "Nothing happens" when I try to download (browser on the Shield, apk application, ...) Nothing

Exactly as you say, I own about 20 CDs/DTS and I would like to be able to play to them in DTS, without having to insert the CD into the player each time, so any container would do, as long as it lets me listen to them in DTS. Yesterday I tried listening to the WAV file in DTS with Kodi and the amplifier turned on the DTS decoder regularly. If it is not possible with Emby, I'll use KODI for CD/DTS, although I am so sorry because I love Emby. Thank you all for your help and I hope, in the future, this can be remedied so that I can listen to CD/DTS even with the fantastic Emby

Hi, I am using Emby for linux version 4.8.5.0 and the cover image for media libraries cover image disappeared. The images inside the library are fine, everything working well, the problem is just just on the media selection page I already tried: Restart emby Other browsers Other computer Other networks from the client Emby app for windows Emby app for ios Reinstall emby Refresh library (scan) Refresh metadata (search for missing) removed the image as it was showing as a X and repeat the process from beginning of this list Nothing helped

Unfortunately, I have found a new problem. Some of my videos are not the standard 3840X1920 resolution, such as 3840X1636, and I think the black edge was cut when pressing the movie, so the plugin changes will not take effect.

Hi, Yesterday I updated to 4.8.5.0 and after that my subtitles got crazy. 1) Most of time they will not show, besides the stats for nerds say a something about be adding it to the movie, but no subtitles on most of video option 2) Sometimes it will show a very small subtitle on the center left side of the screen * Sometimes it will circle between options 1 and two for the same movie + subtitle if I stop the movie and start again I already tried with multiple combinations of movies file + subtitle file, they were working in a older Emby version but not 4.8.5.0
