In order to reprocess one specific upgraded movie I need the emby movie id. why can I not see that id via browser or Android app. where is it? thanks!!! and why does it have to be so complicated all the time

I'll see if sticking it on 1 router works, but I have the other set up to act more as a switch. It was one I bought when the og router from my old isp died

You need to work out which device is providing DHCP addresses; make sure DHCP is only enabled in one (and ensure that both are in the same subnet). But really, unless you have a strong reason which you understand, you should not be using two routers; it sounds as if you are doing it on a whim, which is a really bad idea. Stick with just the service device, and things may simply fall into place. Paul

It also just dawned on me to mention. I have a router modem combo that my isp gave us when we got their service, I have another router connected to it to help separate the traffick a bit. The server is on the 2nd router while the tvs are on the isp modem/router.

Those Rokus have never been used for emby before. I would also like to add that it didn't work when I was on wifi either but I thought that could potentially be fluctuating speeds

Did you ever restart those Roku after adding in the switch? Restart is in the menu, or you can be rude and remove its power cord and wait 10 seconds plug it back in. Either way. Where those Roku used and worked on Emby before adding the switch? I am asking because anything beyond/behind the switch might have had to get a new IP address. Even your Emby server may have a new IP address if you restart the router and it remains OFF for long enough.

Emby is recording now, but I did have to setup ALL my recordings again.

Separate all streams by same user into separate information box in Emby UI dashboard, and not all in one like op showed in video... This is happening for last 5 years....but it was not fixed.

sigh....yes...I already tried that. Unless I am completely missing a DIFFERENT set of 3 dots. When I select "organize" from the 3 dots, it just gives me the option to file it under "The Orville" and I don't get any option to select anything different. So what am I missing here? I'm never given the opportunity to select a different series. And I know the error is because episode 1 of season 2 for The Orville already exists and I have Emby setup to skip episodes that already exist.

FWIW: I have a shield that i almost never use. I just do not like its behavior anymore even using a custom launcher. I have retired it for now. I "may" resurrect the shield to dedicate it to audio playback but even audio gets screwy under the new Shield operation system. I get exits and restarts when handling audio and, so far, i have not been able to get enough stability from my shield to justify moving my audio consumption from the computer it currently runs on. It is a good thing that my eyes are pretty bad ay my age. I can primarily shop for price when I shop for TVs. Almost all of them have a plenty good enough picture for my old eyes.

It’s started working again since the last update. But I’m sure as soon as there is another update I will have the problem again. Yes, my server is always up and running.

I just found that macOS app works only with Emby Premium subscription.

Well, that would be true if it was CSP, but that doesn't seem to be the case...

jammin1911 is me. just to clarify, the question was not about showing old sessions it was about grouping multiple sessions in to one entry on the dashboard. If I open 3 browser tabs and play something in each tab they will all be grouped together in one entry that seems to just randomly and intermittently switch between which session it is displaying. you can see this in the video i posted the one that is changing.

OK i actually analyzed your log pretty heavily. I counted 9 open playback sessions, but every single one still had ongoing activity right up until the end of the log file. Therefore, I think it was correct that they were still showing. Was jammin1911 you or someone else? In other words, are you able to create a session yourself that you think gets stuck there? If so, how?

Apologies still new to Emby and not super technical person, not sure what a session is specifically. The user is jammin1911 if that helps. That said - I think I figured out that this is happening when there are multiple streams from the same device. Seems like the dashboard group multiple streams from the same device (in this case my firefox browser) in to a single entry on the dashboard.

HI, as a test, do you have an h264 source with closed captions that you can test to compare with? I have a feeling that this is isolated to hevc. Thanks.

Issue still present on 4.8.7 - web can playback from the new backend but client cannot

Hi, this hasn't been uploaded to the store yet. It's only up for manual download, so all you need to do is wait for it to come through the store. I would suggest running Emby for Android on all android devices.
