if your actual WAN IP is not the same as the DDNS IP - then something is wrong. You really need to take this up with your ISP and get them to explain what is going on. Yes if they use CGNAT, then it's game over for basic hosting - you'll need to use alternatives - there are some 'how to's' in this forum. (btw, leaving your dns name above is no different to showing your WAN IP as a simple nslookup with provide it for anybody on the internet ... )

Maybe chop out the bad frames in avidemux - I doub't you'll notice a couple of frames missing.

as part of my library I have some home movie/photo libraries that are very large esp with many thousands of photos when running a library scan the memory usage slowly increases and keeps increasing as emby parses over the various folder contents, and this memory usage continues to increase until the scan is completed and then it is freed again the problem is so bad that I can not complete a full library scan, even if there are no changes made to the library - I have successfully scanned my entire library by individually selecting each sub-folder and scanning those one by one, by doing this I have imported all items and the library looks complete. if I do this across every sub folder, selecting each one and "scan library files" one by one, so they all get queued up, the memory usage usually goes up to around 1-1.5GB then drops again, rises to a similar level then drops, repeating this until it's all completed. it looks to me like the usage increases during each queued up scan then the memory is returned after each one is completed. with no changes made to the library, I can do this across my entire library and it doesn't take long, the entire process is completed in just a few minutes. so as a workaround, this is working for now but even in this current state where my library is fully imported and there are no changes that need importing or deleteing, if I start a full library scan then it only reaches around 50% until the Emby process is consuming over 4GB of RAM (I have 6GB in my synology) at which point the system has to start using the swap file, which of course is mirrored across all drives so this is extremely slow - Emby becomes very slow and unresponsive (pages take many seconds to load, if they load at all), all the drives start thrashing and the scan slows to a crawl. eventually after hours of constant drive thrashing and the scan barely moving at all, synology DSM reports that it has terminated the process due to excessive memory usage, at this point I think the scan has still only reached about 60%. again there are no library contents that need updating - no video files are being inspected, no scraping is being done, no thumbnails being generated - Emby is just checking for changes and not finding any changes I previously (on v7.5) was able to complete full library scans on the same library content without any such problem I updated to 7.8 and started having a number of unrelated problems, eventually I deleted Emby and did a clean reinstall again to 7.8 which solved most of those however this memory problem persists. I've since updated to 7.9 beta and the problem remains there as well I've attached a server log showing the full library scan taking place, as you can see there's very little in the log because there's no changes to the library content, but you can see some extremely slow response times which are indicative of the problem. not long after the last entry in this log I had no choice but to force stop the process as the server wouldn't respond to shutdown requests and the constant drive thrashing is not good for drive lifespan embyserver.txt

Bump... Jellyfin supports external audio tracks just fine. Even as MKA. Would love to see this in Emby.

If you think I am going to change 1000's of cover art from CD sized squares to rectangular or thumb art which is what TV uses!!!!! Music view works, they just need to refine things like the top menu items like "Songs" and show the track descriptions (like tv shows) so when in horizontal view which uses the FOLDERS view incidentally, you cans see the track (episode) description BEFORE you select to play it. Often I see the tracks listed and I have to navigate to a specific track to see the description, its so frustrating. I think the Android TV app gets this right from memory BUT that would be using the vertical view as that app does not have horizontal view.

Also tested on Windows, still not issue. Maybe fixed with Kodi 21. I didn't test Kodi 20

Emby changed recently. When you clicked an actor's name, it used to show Movies and TV shows and episodes as distinct rails/lines. The recent change means Movies & TV Shows are shown under one rail as "Movies & Shows". I prefer the tv is separate to Movies as they are NOT the same. I may be interested in just exploring TV Shows for an actor. If the combined view on the rail is to be the way, then at least if you click/select "Movies & Shows" it should open a new page where the content is separated into differing views one for Moves, one for TV Shows and one for Episodes. Combing Movies and Shows in one rail stinks of Apple TV app. They are separate things and should not be combined in my view.

That's great, thanks! But what I don't understand is the fact that the Fire TV version doesn't support direct play for HEVC files. I mean based on this thread this is an ongoing issue for at least the last 3.5 years and the normal Android version shows that direct play is possible. So talking as someone with no access to the code base it looks as if the difficult parts are already there (video playback) and the actual issue lies in determining which formats are supported. And shouldn't this be a relatively easy thing to fix, especially as this app can only be used on a very limited set of devices (the handful of Fire devices vs the gazillion android smartphone)? I mean, worst case you could adjust the list of supported video formats you receive from the device's interface to include HEVC for the FireTV models you know that they support it, right? Or why can't you use a similar approach for finding out if the device supports a certain format as in the Android version? Please don't get this comment the wrong way, I know it's always much easier said then done and my comment makes it sound as if I believe that this is done in 5min, which I definitely don't (especially as I don't know anything about the code base). But I would really like to understand why this is still a problem. Thanks!

Please show logo.png (i.e. the Artists logo) on Android TV app/LG app/Apple TV app like the Android TV app does? You show logos for TV programmes and movies, makes no sense to not show it for Music, Music Videos and Audiobooks. Also, on some of the apps, backdrop.jpg is NOT being shown in Music/Music Videos/Audiobooks and Fodler.jpg is shown as an oversized backdrop instead despite Emby settings saying to show backdrop.

Can we please have the A-Z picker down the side of the screen like Android TV app does for the standard Android App and LG app when in Horizontal view. In this view teh libraries of Msuic Videos and Audiobooks use FOLDERS and FOLDERS view does not have the picker. Its really bad UI without it.

On LG app (and I think other Emby apps), when I go into music videos in horizontal view (i.e. Folders) and play a music video, when it finishes playing and I press back, it goes back to the list of artists but the navigation has reset to to the top of the library list instead of last point you navigated to. Also does this if you just go into an Artist to see what music videos are listed and then press back. This is an annoying UI issue so would be grateful if this could be fixed.

My users still have buffering/playback pauses and sound desync issues. These issues happen both on LAN and WAN connections. Generally a quick pause and unpause fixes most of them, but sometimes playback, on mobile espescially, can get stuck and i have to restart the app basically. Hardware: Ryzen 9 7900 32gb ram 3TB SSD Raid1 array. (btrfs) Arc a380 Ubuntu server (6.8.0-31-generic, 24.04) WAN is 1000mbit full duplex. Iv tried a few things: Emby in Docker (This is what I normally run). emby-server standard deb install. Tried both with and without using nginx proxy manager. Tried SSL/Non SSL connections. Transcoding is picking up the intel arc fine, so I don't think its that. Iv added a few transcode logs also. Does this file exist? The file should be generated by next-gen, but accessed by tvtunes. The question, is it a tvtunes bug (file exists) or next-gen bug (file not created).

Thanks very much for the replies -- I've been trying different things today, and for some reason it just worked like I wanted after one of the times removing/deleting nfo's and re-scanning. I now have seasons that match the 15 folder names, and it even automatically picked up the poster jpg's I had set up in each. I'm thrilled it worked, but not sure why? The only difference I can think of was the first scan was automatic, the one that used my custom "seasons" was one that I manually started from home screen. Should this (custom seasons) have been possible? Either way, I think I'm good to go!
