Hi good day, I am running Emby in a container on Synology and it is working flawlessly. Recently I discovered something very strange with transcoding of DTS-HD MA/TrueHD when viewing a video in CCWGTV (Chromecast with GoogleTV). The movie has 2 audio streams: DTS-HD MA and AC3 5.1. If I start the video with the default audio DTS-HD MA, it gets transcoded correctly in Emby for AndroidTV if I set the option "Transcode incompatible audio to AC3". If I switched the audio to AC3 while playing, it is direct-playing. But when I switched the audio back to DTS-HD MA, it is still direct-playing the audio instead of transcoding it. This is very strange. I also tried the standard Android version (not for Android TV), DTS-HD MA is not getting transcoded at all! My SONOS Playbar does not support DTS anyway so Emby client should trigger the transcoding to AC3. Using the standard Android version on the Android tablet it is behaving correctly: switching AC3 => DTS-HD MA => audio gets transcoded. I am running Emby client on CCWGTV and the following versions: Emby server: 4.8.3.0 Emby Client: Emby for Android TV 2.1.10g Emby Client: Android Emby 3.3.77 I have attached server log from Emby. Please let me know what else do you need to troubleshoot this issue. Thanks! ffmpeg-transcode-d762b334-8468-40c3-a6c0-21ab72f53b69_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-9c624b0f-e582-4ae7-ba90-92007cd1dd40_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-4a615b15-336f-42c3-a0ca-b81db0bfc0d2_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-9ef767b0-fc3a-4764-a376-5891a9270942_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-ede05a74-8c46-461d-9edc-4409f3210ce2_1.txt embyserver.txt

Built-in Chromecast, Volume behaving differently from other apps (YouTube, etc)
BloodyIron posted a topic in General/Windows
Well over a year ago I worked with Luke to get Emby improved to better interface with my TV that has built-in Chromecast Ultra. It's not exactly a Chromecast Ultra, but it matches spec. That improvement was greatly appreciated, however there's a problem with it that has existed ever since, and I've been meaning to try and get it looked into/addressed for a good long while now. It seems that when Emby interfaces with the Chromecast on my TV it doesn't "properly" interface with the volume on the TV. When I use the volume buttons on my phone it seems to adjust volume "before" it is sent to the TV and not adjust the volume on the TV itself. As in, I cannot actually raise the volume above what the TV is at, I can only lower it. Naturally, I have to turn the volume WAYYY up. A volume value of 10-20 would normally be plenty, if I'm using YouTube, or other Chromecast apps. But with Emby I typically have to turn it up to 40-50 (I think this is out of 100?). I'm not sure if this is a bug, or a feature adjustment, or what not. But I really would appreciate this getting placed somewhere in the queue to get addressed. I'll gladly help where needed! Please? -

Hello, I recently moved from Plex to Emby because the first still doesn't support the Chromecast Ultra but I'm coming across a different problem with Emby: While most video files I have are 5.1 or 7.1 audio tracks and thus require transcoding, which I know is normal for the CCU since it only supports stereo audio or passthrough, I notice Emby transcodes the whole file instead of only the audio... So because the MKV has 5.1 audio, the video is transcoded from HEVC to h264 all the time which obviously uses unnecessary CPU and lowers the quality of the stream. This occurs for any HEVC files I have that includes an audio track over 2 channels... HD or UHD. So is this normal? Did I forget to configure anything? Where can I get more info as to why exactly it's being transcoded? emby_server.log emby_transcoding.log

Hello, I'm having a problem casting from my Pixel XL to my Chromcast Ultra. When i hit the cast button on my Pixel XL running 8.0.0 within the Emby app, my Chromecast does not show up. If I go to a Windows 10 machine and login to the Emby Server and then hit the cast button within Chrome (on the emby webpage) i can see my Chromecast. I also tried from a Pixel that is running Android 7.1.2 and this worked. I can only think the Emby support team needs to update their App to support Android 8.0.0. I'm hoping someone else is experiencing this or has a fix for it. Below is all of my information and troubleshooting steps. Troubleshooting Steps: rebooted chromecast ultra rebooted pixel xl uninstalled and reinstalled emby for android rebooted the emby server Chromecast Ultra System Firmware Version: 92486 Cast Firmware Version: 1.26.92486 Pixel XL Running Android 8.0.0 Emby for Android version 2.9.51 Emby Server Running on Synology Version 3.2.30.0
