  2. As for the recently played and most played and favorite music, only one song can be played after clicking. Every time I listen to the next song, I have to manually choose another song, which is really poor and the operation is too troublesome. sd1714804377_2.mp4

    Favorite artists can't

I have many favorite song artists, but only 12 can be displayed on the emby main page. sd1714804188_2.mp4

    Can't read cover.

The cover of the playlist I uploaded can't be displayed. I think the TV terminal limits the size of the picture.

    Live TV isn't playing

Hello, Luke I didn't resolve the issue for 4.8.x. What I did was remove 4.8.x completely, and installed 4.7 from Synology package center. Now it works ok. Now, when I'm on 4.7, I am not sure that the problem is in the Emby version. Probably it matters that I had 2 m3u playlists with 2 XML teleguides (now, on 4.7 I use the one m3u and teleguide). I do not know if this can be the root cause.

    Boxsets Get Unboxed

Well it seems I have my answer because after two weeks not a single person has chimed in. So I'd say the nay's have the overwhelming majority vote via not saying anything at all. (Unless this community has just become super quite in my absence, IDK) Which is perfectly fine, as I'd rather brutal honesty that saved me from endless hours making something that would go largely unused. So unless this picks up traction later down the road, I guess this one will get a pin put in it, for a possible revisit on future date. Thanks for stopping by and checking things out! Until next time, Demon signing off, later guys! Oh and hey EBR! Been a while. And it Seems it'll still be a while longer.

  8. Let say Emby has buffered 10 to 50% of the movie, tv show, or video already and I am at 2 to 4 % of the video so near the very beginning. Will the video stop playing if the spot the car is driving has no cellular data signal or very little ? Not sure how this works sorry. Would the buffered part of the movie, tv show, or video still me on the remote server of Emby or some of it or even all of it on my mobile device? I would be using Emby app on iOS. Does using nPlayer Plus or Infuse Pro change anything as well ? Thanks.

  10. Next version will de-double the boxset/collection updates....
  11. How 10.X works: Realtime updates (Emby via websocket) do not report boxsets/collections changes directly, just e.g. a movie has changed. The plugin tries to detect the assign boxsets/collections by movie's ParentId. It queries all boxsets from the ParentId and updates them all. e.g. "Alien" boxset/collection change... Emby would report 3 movie changes The ParentId is usually the subfolder of a movie. /movies/Alien 1/Alien1.mkv /movies/Alien 2/Alien2.mkv /movies/Alien 3/Alien3.mkv In this example ParentId would point to "/movies/Alien 1/", "/movies/Alien 2/", "/movies/Alien 3/" At the moment the plugin would update the "Alien" boxset/collection 3 times cause 3 movies had changed. I need to find a way to de-double these updates, however.. If ParentId points to a folder with multiple movies and multiple boxsets/collections assigned like... /movies/Alien1.mkv /movies/Alien2.mkv /movies/Alien3.mkv /movies/Back to the future1.mkv /movies/Back to the future2.mkv /movies/Back to the future3.mkv ...it would update both boxsets/collections. "Alien" and "Back to the future" even "Back to the future" has not changed. If you have many boxsets/collections in a ParentId's location, it could take quite some time to update them all.

    Rethink Audiobooks

I only just found AudioBookShelf, I have been playing with it for a few days, it looks cool and appears to work well. They have a Windows installer now : https://www.audiobookshelf.org/docs#windows-install It took me a while to wrangle my audiobook collection into a directory structure that works for me and is acceptable for AudioBookShelf to import, but once you get it set up it looks and feels great. I had to re-order the metadata importers, wanted it to take my authors, series, titles, readers from the directory/file structure and had to move that metadata importer to the top. Apart form that, it was easy to set up and use. I will be testing it on my phone (just using the web client) over the next few weeks to see how it goes.

You misunderstand, recording can be allowed by dispensation of the broadcasters with support by the recording device.

    New Plugin - Subscene subtitle

    This is horrible news
  16. I think I found the problem. You really added a movie, not just assigned a movie to a collection? I wasn't aware it's possible doing that at in one step. BoxSet/Collection updates for realtime sync only triggered for updated content. Not new content. I'll fix that in next version, but please check.

    Combine albums in music collection

Yes, I understand. Much of my really old music was initially ripped in WMA format (uugh!) About 10 years ago I converted it all to FLAC. I don't think the metadata will ever be fully complete and totally accurate! If your old music is mp3 and you still have the CDs, I would recommend to re-rip as lossless FLAC. It takes up more hard drive space (about half that of the original CD) but is much better sound quality than lossy mp3. You probably know this anyway. Definitely give Mp3tag a good try. I find it extremely useful. (Others will likely recommend MusicBrainz Picard, which is also very good). There are some Mp3tag 'traps' to be aware of, e.g. AlbumArtist vs Album Artist - you need to check the Extended Tags window to see both (unless you customise the default tag side panel). There are plenty of members here that can help with navigation/use of Mp3tag. While you can make some changes directly in Emby, I have found it's always best to use another program to save changes to embedded metadata. That way your music library will work in other software platforms as well. Emby changes are just stored in your Emby database, not the music files themselves. If you make changes just in Emby and then rescan your library, it will possibly revert back to what the embedded data in your files is. (Or, as you have found - Emby won't let you.) What did you use before Emby? I have tried too many to name them all... I used Asset uPnP for quite a while. Have used Plex on and off, but don't really like it, despite it having a few more useful music fields than Emby does. Emby is quite good. Roon is possibly the 'gold standard' but you have to pay 'gold prices' for it! Good luck with it all and trying Mp3tag. P.S. More tips... Just load in one problem album and experiment with that first, both in Mp3tag and Emby. Get one album fixed and then it will be easy to do the rest! You can't undo Mp3tag changes, so make a backup and 'hasten slowly' while you are learning it! Have fun!

    ATSC 3.0 DRM and Silicondust

Emby legally can't as that's against the law. Read the DMCA. https://www.dmlp.org/legal-guide/circumventing-copyright-controls The DMCA prohibits circumventing access-control measures. 17 U.S.C. § 1201(a)(1). For example, if you cannot watch a particular copyrighted DVD on your laptop because of an encryption system, the DMCA makes it unlawful for you to bypass this access-control measure. Access-control measures may also be found on eBooks, Internet streaming platforms, and password-protected sections of websites, among other things. Note that there is no ban on the act of circumventing copy-control measures, but it is illegal for anyone to provide you with the technological tools to do so. In any event, some copyright holders merge access-control and copy-control measures in the same DRM system, making it impossible to circumvent copy-controls (which is not prohibited) without circumventing access-controls (which is prohibited). The DMCA also prohibits trafficking in devices or tools that help other people circumvent access-control and copy-control measures. 17 U.S.C. § 1201(a)(2), (b). "Trafficking" means making, selling, giving away, or otherwise offering these devices or tools to the public. Beware: you can "traffic" in circumvention tools simply by posting them on your website or linking to other websites that host them. For example, in 1999 a Norwegian teenager created a software program called "DeCSS" that allowed users to circumvent CSS, the encryption technology used by movie studios to stop unlicensed playing and copying of commercially distributed DVDs. A number of websites posted the source and object code for DeCSS on the Internet, and other websites linked to them. The Second Circuit held that hosting and linking to the DeCSS code violated the DMCA's anti-trafficking provisions, and that this application of the DMCA did not violate the First Amendment. See Universal City Studios, Inc. v. Corley, 273 F.3d 429 (2d Cir. 2001). This decision is controversial, and it is not clear that other courts would necessarily follow its reasoning. Nevertheless, it illustrates how risky it is to host or even link to devices or tools that enable others to break access- and copy-controls. Fair use is not a defense to a prohibited act of circumvention or trafficking. It does not matter that you or someone else has to circumvent DRM in order to make fair use of a copyrighted work. This is one of the reasons that the DMCA is so controversial.

    Subtitles incorrect

Roku plays the wrong subtitles, plays english subtitles when only forced is selected. Fire Stick has none of these issues. I have submitted logs and heard nothing. The problem went away for a while, but it is back with a vengeance. I even have English shows playing English subtitles for no reason now. Again, none of this is an issue on Fire Stick.

    Combine albums in music collection

(What I am trying to say is, if you have to use a third party program to make appropriate changes, Emby's interface isn't good enough and my feature request therefore stands. A user should be able to make appropriate changes with the Emby interface.

    Combine albums in music collection

Quantity of albums that have the problem: hundreds. Enough that I'm not even going to go count them. Seriously, I've been collecting CDs for decades, and they weren't tagged with Emby in mind when they were ripped. What are the album artist tags for the problem albums I have? Seriously, I have hundreds, I'm not going to look them all up. What music tagging program do I use before importing into Emby? None, I ripped my CDs decades ago, it's not like I assumed that someday I'd be using them in Emby, and no previous program that I've had them in has had a problem with the albums. Emby does not seem to let me adjust the artist, either the album artist or the track artist. This tells me that Emby's metadata editor for music is inadequate, because it does not let you adjust the criteria on which it makes its decisions. BTW, thank you for recommending MP3Tag. I downloaded it, it is now looking at my library, and then I will start learning about it.

    ATSC 3.0 DRM and Silicondust

That's the question: will Emby do whatever the link I posted requires to play their DRM game. NBC is one of only two ATSC 3.0 channels in my area.

    ATSC 3.0 DRM and Silicondust

Hi. I can't answer your "many years" question, but I can comment on the current state of ATSC 3.0 in Emby. As long as a network has not turned on DRM encryption, you should be able to record an ATSC 3.0 channel. In my market, NBC and FOX turned on DRM encryption almost from the start. But CBS and ABC are not encrypted (as of this post) and I record regularly in Emby from both of them. Also, once a network turns on encryption, that channel is no longer available in Emby. Hope that helps!

    XPEnology - Hardware Transcoding Support

Hello! I am a lifelong paying user of EMBY, and I enjoy its ease of use. However, recently there has been a problem that has been bothering me. Whether I am using the DSM suite version of EMBY, v4.8.50, or the Docker version of EMBY, v4.8.50, some TV dramas always get stuck at a fixed time and don't work. I have tried many methods but have not been able to solve it. I hope you can help me. Thank you!I'm using a gtx 1650 graphics card。 If I don't use hardware transcoding, I don't have these problems. embyserver.txt ffmpeg-transcode-aa73189d-125b-47de-acd1-443822bb18c8_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-398511f0-fee2-4dd6-a5b1-5844faed8c3c_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-4c394bde-511d-4eed-a786-145aea1b37e2_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-a5f69b6c-b979-44c7-8a90-91137aaccda1_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-14df157e-8bcc-44e2-9415-37dd46abb456_1.txt ffmpeg-transcode-d9275f45-e989-46cd-bd24-c71522f8f56d_1.txt hardware_detection-63850396439.txt
