If you're having lags or issues and it's DirectPlay, it can only be network or server, but most likely network. If you are using WiFi, make sure you are on a 5GHz channel and don't have interference from other neighbours. Try restarting your router as well. While DLNA is also using WiFi, it's traffic volume will be lower and different to the web client. For example, DLNA is not reporting back the playback progress, while the actual client is.

found this thread after a search - emby 4.9.13 beta... firestick max running the current Emby app - AndroidTv 2.1.26a, all fed by a synology nas. Music playback-> song carousel album cover images, and controls -> changes to a large Album image, generic backdrop, with play time bottom left, etc. but it never moves, only slightly dims (brightens on next song) and just sits there burning in my OLED lol Meanwhile - if i leave the app to the Firestck Home (not exit) - it will play tunes in the background (which is great) and eventually starts doing my firestick screen saver. However the emby screen saver options never kick in (i now can't control anything unless i reopen the app) - and even though i chose the "photos" options and made a "Home Videos and Photos" media folder - they don't get trigger to display either. So what am I doing wrong? as I cannot just have a giant album square hanging there. Any options for a visualizer?

@visproduction Enabled DNLA logging, log file attached. The last movie played (Quake) is the movie with issue. no SUBS inside. P.S.: all the movie files are stored on a local file server. Emby server mounts it in red only. I have also a Xiaomi Mi Box where I installed Kodi and also Emby. I just tested. Interestingly it seems to be the opposite. AAC multi channel files are playing fine. Anything other than an AAC audio codec (AC3, EAC3, DTS) won't play correctly. AC3 and EAC3 seem to be the ones playing at double speed. The DTS files don't even start playing on my Chromebook.

The Tag setting seems to do nothing when generating the images. I setup the tag "IMAX" in EmbyIcons setting and pushed the file IMAX.png into the icon folder, but The icon is not shown on the cover for the specific movies. tag.png for the preview is working though. Cleared Browser cache end even deleted contents in enhanced-images folder in image cache. Log is attached. There are ways of finding out if you have an Emby server - try searching for the file "EmbyServer.exe" (on a Windows system). Do you have more than one machine? Check both - a problem can occur in the communication between Windows machines as a result of Windows Update. If you find the file, try taskmanager or whatever to see if it's running. If it isn't, try starting it manually, and see if it runs, or gives an error message. Also, if you are really running your own Emby server, somewhere you must have a significant amount of storage given over to the files it is serving you. (Do these files change and update with time? - that would be yet another indication that you aren't running your own server.) Paul

As an avid music lover with over 150,000 + tracks, I wanted something like Plexamp / Spotify but without the plex or subscription part. I haven't got far enough yet for it to finish (It restarted as the scheduled time triggered it again) I enabled debug logging and left it a while, so far the only other line that the plugin has output so far is: 2025-07-04 20:48:30.824 Debug XmlSerializer: Deserializing file /config/plugins/configurations/themesongs.xml But I haven't seen anything after that. At time of this comment the progress is at around 25%

As far I know there is no way to get it in the correct format without a mac using subler. I am also disappointed in the Apple TV app.

I searched and came across a power shell script to copy a rating for TV shows, but I don't have a Windows machine and I would think this feature should be simpler anyway. As is, it seems that setting an Album to a parental rating only allows my child account to see the album but none of the songs. There is no option to edit metadata for multiple items at once, so it's very time consuming to approve content. If Songs do not have a rating, could they inherit the rating from the Album they belong to? That still allows individual songs to have a different rating, but overall allowing an Album for a child account would be much less time consuming.

As generiq said. Browsers do not support formats like DTS-MA, you will need a dedicated player for that.

Its a little way off from being able to test this right now. It runs, but I'm having to build memory management, auth, encryption and other systems just to accommodate the smart features. So its coming along but not for public consumption right now. My plan was - Backend Server (docker) running on the same network as Emby - Froent end Web App what you have seen so far - Then once I have the bulk of the features in work on an IOS App. (I'm An iOS user ) - Then who knows, maybe Android. I will create my own thread at some point on the forums, instead of hijacking yours with lots more info

Well, it's not true that browsers don't support that, since there's even a test that verifies it works, which my browser passed. But you're right that this is a wrong forum - can anyone move it to the right place? I don't seem to have that option.

You got debug logging enabled? You should still be getting an end notification for the task.

There is no "about" in Emby settings. Are you by chance talking about a mobile app? I'm using a browser.
