cbdudek started following Emby Images Not Updating
-
I have an Unraid server with Emby running in a docker. I have all my images saving in the same folders as the media. Today I decided to change some images on some of my movies. I went to Alien and chose a different poster picture. The new poster was downloaded to the Alien directory and it shows just fine, but in Emby, the old picture is still there. I then decided to download some additional Backdrops. I had 3 fanarts already chosen. I chose 2 new fanarts which downloaded into the media folder without a problem. In Emby, it gave me a duplicate and then a different picture. These have got to be pulling from a different cache somehow. I have tried restarting the emby server and doing a library refresh. I have tried identifying the movie again as well as doing a forced refresh of the movie with replacing all images. Problem is still happening. Any ideas on what could be happening? EDIT: I did at one point have "keep a cached copy of images in the server's metadata folder" turned on. I opted to turn on "save artwork into media folders" which started saving the images in the media folders directly. I turned off the "keep a cached copy of images in the server's metadata folder". I bet that there may be some old image files hanging out in that directory though. Could that be the problem? How can I clear out old pictures out of that cache? embyserver.txt

MKCustodial started following Suggestion for Playlists
-
Hello, all. I'd like to make the following suggestion and see if it's viable. Among the playlists I've created, I have some dedicated to Christmas, Halloween, Easter and Thanksgiving episodes/movies. However, I've noticed two things: 1) If I stop watching an episode from my playlist and continue later, after it's over it doesn't go to the next episode on that playlist, but to the next episode of that particular show. 2) After every episode I watch, that series than goes to my "Next" list, cluttering the home screen. So I wanted to ask if it's feasible for the items included in a playlist to be treated "different" than when they're watched in their individual series? Don't know if I was able to explain correctly. Anyway, thank you for your time and keep up the great work!

x265/HEVC play too fast on Android App on Chromebook
pwhodges replied to Capt.Insano's topic in Android
Are the failing 5.1s AAC or something else (like AC-3 or DTS)? I seem to recall that there have been times when AAC 5.1 was not handled though other versions were. Paul -

I think you're right for my case as well Glant80. I thought originally I disproved it, but so far every video I've found that is stereo plays fine. The 5.1s are not. I'll post back if I find different. -

Well, I guess forget all that. For some reason now I'm seeing it on at least one h264 video. Client reports Direct Play for everything. Do not see it for an mpeg4 / AVI video that also reports Direct Play for everything. Still do not see it on a different h264 video that reports Direct Play for everything. Some examples: Working: MKV, 1080p h264 5mbps 23.976 fps Audio: AAC 192k No subtitles No transcode Failing: MKV 1080p h264 3mbps 23.976 fps Audio: EAC3 5.1 256kbps SDH subtitles No transcode Failing: MKV 1080p HEVC 5mps 23.976 fps Audio: EAC3 5.1 640kbps ASS subtitles Transcodes -> HLS/h264/AC3 Failing: MKV 1080p h264 4mbps 23.976fps Audio: AC3 640kbps No subtitles No transcode -
x265/HEVC play too fast on Android App on Chromebook
GLant80 replied to Capt.Insano's topic in Android
The issue in this thread isn't actually limited to h265. It happens on any Chromebook on any file that has a surround sound audio source. H264 or h265 play fine if the audio is stereo or mono. -

I think the problem MAY have started when my Emby Premiere expired recently, and that it has to do with SW transcoding only. It seems to be transcoding from h265 to h264. Maybe due to lack of HW support in the Chromebook tablet where I see the problem. I believe it WAS using HW transcoding (Intel Mac 2019) in the past, and that might be why I didn't see the problem until recently. However, I've re-set up Emby Premiere, confirmed it is active, server+client restarted, etc. But now I don't see it doing transcoding. I'm not sure if it's supposed to be supported on Intel Macs. I'm like 95% sure it WAS doing HW transcoding, and it definitely gives me the option in server settings (and is enabled). I don't see anything in any config that should prevent HW transcoding from working. Either way, I also don't see any difference if I chance various SW transcoding options (h264 profiles and whatnot) although I haven't dug into any extended ffmpeg messing around. -

I see similar symptoms - video and audio play way too fast - on Android. In my case so far it seems to apply only to h.265. h.264 and others I've tried have been fine. Also happens on videos with a single audio track. Tried upgrading everything to the latest, rebooting, clearing Android-side storage. Happens on a Chromebook (running, essentially, Android 13) but not on a phone. -
Run the Audio MIDI Setup app. Select the Studio Display speakers. Set the format to 96,000 Hz. Click the Configure Speakers... button. Specify the configuration as stereo and click Done. Studio Display will now play stereo playback. emby mac app no longer crashes after this configuration. Please try it out.

This is great! Could you add all the updates by editing the original post? I think that will be less confusing! Thanks! -
EmbyCon incompatible with Home Assistant commands?

It's evidently reporting different compatibility to what it was when I first set it up, though I've no idea why. -
@spec119Do you have music videos?

The How to that Luke posted has directions as all anyone can do is guess without logs to look for errors. I will still guess permissions. -

How can I get access to the more like this item list in kodi. Is this something that could be provided as a context menu item?
-
So, in the meantime maybe do as yocker suggested and manually fix them yourself since Tizen can't do it automatically. At least until server adds the capability to rotate incorrectly positioned video files. Then you will be able to watch them.

there is no emby folder in your "user homes" folder? I deleted everything. I deleted Emby server. I rebooted. I installed this beta version and everything worked for me.

CoverArt: Not displaying consistently in Collections
visproduction replied to keitaro26's topic in Plugins
Try changing the added date inside the nfo files. Make the media you want in the collection to have the oldest added date. Version HDR (.nfo file) <dateadded>2025-06-30 11:58:30</dateadded> Version 1080P <dateadded>2025-06-30 11:58:30</dateadded> Change version HDR <dateadded>2020-06-30 11:58:30</dateadded> Rescan the library. You may have to redo the collection, as well, for this to help. I suspect that the oldest dataadded value may be the media that gets into the collection. Hope that helps. -
When I developed this, I did not think if it will work with unsecured servers. My server was behind a secured https address. Someone above in the thread was able to solve this by using a proxy address (https://) from duckdns.org

visproduction replied to juergenthefish's topic in Synology
Juergen, Good point. Try the site and rule out that some of your images have any issues. Also your screen shot of the sample .jpg files looks fine, all the files have the same user and rights ownership. But Linux can create files with different groups or user ownership and different rights. Do an director list and check if some of your images files have different owners, groups or rights which could cause Emby not to be able to reach them. Maybe upload a sample image that fails with Emby. Hope that helps.
