I didn't answer because I'm not on a fishing trip, and even if I was, herring's not really my thing.

You knew the road you were heading and you're reluctant to call other people right. Sometimes humbleness is a good thing.

Do you have an emby paid subscription ?

Paying ever since 3.5.2 to support emby.

Note, that was when emby went closed source, decided to support them.

You like supporting emby by harassing them with crap?

I forgot, you're the person who mocked me multiple times. Stop being rude and be a better human being.

The way to prove me wrong and humiliate me in front of the whole forum is to show why any version of Emby *should* ignore season information in nfo files when grouping episodes without mentioning that some of them did.

No one would ever call it a bug when you use a product improperly which is what you have been doing.

Following the directions given many times I get this for Season 1

If you take that as humiliation, I apologise. I did not do that with that intent.

Your argument is not valid as 4.5.4.0 and older version works though. You gotta see it this way.

I spot duplicates and wrong order.

The above post I made a few minutes ago shows how any version of Emby will import this info when you clean up the meta-data and following the naming we have.

Works perfectly.
So the op can follow the directions given multiple times and he will solve his problem.

That could be.  I wasn't doing this to be 100% spot on as it's a test.  If I goofed an episode that on me the editor, not the software.

The software did what I told it to do and works correctly.

You need to Edit the meta-data.

The fact is its already working in 4.5.4.0 and older.

That doesnt matter he is just proving a point there, the metadata edition whether you do it on emby editor or source on nfo files.

You have the tools.

Advanced renamer to batch renamer the episodes.

Metadata editor on emby, or the script to add the season and episode according to the renaming by Advanced Renamer

The CLI command to remove the old lines on the nfo files with the season episode data that you dont want emby to read.

But he's changing the episode number manually.

Try putting it on a scale,

1 side = stay in 4.5.4.0 and hope for a fix

1 side = manually change 1 by 1 thousands of episode and double check if anything went wrong.

YES, YES, YES, YES, YES

This is 18 pages of everyone telling you to do this.  YOU MUST DO THIS.

You need to change the season and the episode number in the meta-data.  That is how episodes are shown.  This is the way Emby Works.  This is the way Emby will always work.

I already told you, the 2 ways you have before.

"the metadata edition whether you do it on emby editor or source on nfo files."

if you want to batch you can batch it.

Advanced Renamer, batch rename episodes.

Script to modify the nfo files with the new season and episodes (just put all the renamed nfos on the same folder and run the script).

Command line to batch remove the original season and episode lines that you dont want emby to read (again command line to batch edit all the nfos, the same as above all the nfos in the same folder and apply the command)

Do a refresh metadata on Emby and It will all show up as you want.

18 pages and you missed the title?

4.5.4.0 works.

Also, doing manual changing of episodes is not productive at all.

You can't come up with any logical reason why those versions *should* have done that.

And you can't admit that you discovered and exploited a bug in those versions.

Because you can't do the first, you can't do the second.

Your logical house of cards would collapse.

Please show me I'm wrong.
