great to hear, thanks for replying @Trapperjohn61!

have you tried Dolby Vision playback as well? Heard Kodi on fire has some problems there (not emby related, sorry)

Yes I did use Dolby vision and it works well also I should mention no buffering at all. Of course key here is to have an up to date router helps at least wifi 6 does help which is what I use. I do not have wifi 6e. But with wifi 6 smooth.

i should also mention there have been several updates to the stick since it was introduced and has helped.

Is it possible to download a copy from the emby server for offline watch? We have several devices running Kodi with emby next gen. Some of these are mobile devices, like a tablet. I am looking for an easy way to store a copy of a selected movie or episode for offline usage.

If a movie has no thumb, use Primary as thumb

If a movie has no thumb, backdrops should be used as thumbnails in Kodi because that's what happens in Emby.

Thumbs and backdrops have same aspect ratio but Posters have different aspect ratio that's why using Posters as thumbs looks very ugly. Have a look at first movie Gulmohar.usingposterasthumblooksugly.png.5b6300f18dbc5c9d9e2f4f79e3a20894.png

Does Gulmohar have a backdrop (or thumb)? Check it on Emby's WebUI.

Yes, it has backdrop but not thumb. And in Emby Webapp, backdrop is being used as thumb.

OK, I'll check that. Only if both not exist, Kodi/the plugin should use poster/primary as fallback.

I wrote Embuary version by mistake.  But I have edited my reply now. It's 9.4.12.

The issue will not be fixed in 9.X but it is fixed in 10.X

Hi there and thanks for everyone's hard work on this addon.

One question, should i turn off "update library at startup" from the kodi system menu  ?

Does the addon need this  ?

No need to enable. It's only for native Kodi content (not Emby's content).

Thanks.

I currently use native mode for the addon, you mention though that addon mode is suggested. Is there an actual benefit in using addon mode vs native mode apart from the trancoding ?

Would it make the addon function more reliably in this mode ?

Posted (edited)

Beside extra configuration for native mode, addon mode much better tested than native mode.
