And what happens when you try to update them?

I just click on the icons on the Catalog page.

After that EMC just does nothing - being unresponsive and a dimmed.

I can use the upper left WMC control buttons, but I have to restart WMC to make EMC responsive again.

The last lines from the log:

2019-01-31 15:58:38.6397,Debug,,GoToPage: resx://MediaBrowser/MediaBrowser.Resources/ConfigPage,1,Application
2019-01-31 15:58:38.8997,Info,,Sending Http Get to http://192.168.0.208...n,1,Application
2019-01-31 15:58:43.7948,Debug,,Keep alive call,, IsCurretntlyVisible=True,1,Application
2019-01-31 15:58:48.6748,Debug,,GoToPage: resx://MediaBrowser/MediaBrowser.Resources/PluginCatalog#PluginCatalog,1,Application

It btw also happen if I click on the Chocolate icon on the Plug-ins tab under configuration.

Hi.  Can you please attach the entire log?

Also, are there any errors or information items in Windows Event viewer?

Sure.

The eventlog shows no information I can relate to Emby.

I know the Square theme is outdated - but the same happens from Chocolate.

The server Emby is running on is a Win 7 Home Premium (latest patch) running under VMware Workstation with a bridged networks adapter.

Well the last couple of lines seem to suggest you went to the config page but I don't see any action showing you clicked on update the plugins...

That is correct - I never get that far.

On the screenshot you can se Ascendancy Theme greyed because I clicked it.

And this is as far as I get.

Can you please uninstall Square (just move the dll somewhere out of the plugins folder) and then try again?

Sorry, the log i attached was from clicking Chocolate on the Plug-ins tab.

In this one I proceeded to catalog and clicked Ascendancy.

But the problem is the same.

Yeah maybe the fact that the square theme isn't in the repository is causing it to hang for some reason, you could just temporarily rename it to like square.dll.bck or something and it won't load and hopefully that will stop it from hanging.

Good idea, but no. No difference.

I have also tried to stop Windows Firewall - didn't help either.

Also, check Windows Event viewer again for anything related to "ehexthost"

Log attached.

No events when filtering for ehexthost.

But I cannot see it in task manager either before hanging.

Have to bail out now, sorry.

Talk to you guys later - and thanks a lot for great support !

Okie, back from family business.

Hope it didn't sound like I walking away from my problem - my wife just wasn't quite happy at the time :-)

I have made a capture with Microsoft Network Monitor - don't know if a .cap could be of any help.

Also have a capture from SysInternals Procmon with lots and lots of lines from ehexthost.exe.

But since I don't know what to look for is it a bit hard to understand.

Could this help us forward?

Do you see anything that looks like an error?

Is it possible this is just a display issue?  Is it a 4:3 screen by any chance?

Ha, You are a genius  :D

Not a 4.3 but since it is running under VMware Workstation I had picked a resolution (2560x1600) suiting me best in respect to what else is on my monitor.

WMC and EMC works fine with this solution - apparently just not the themes stuff.

I changed to 1920x1080 and 2560x1440 and both worked out fine!

So lesson learned and problem solved - thanks a lot :)

PS: a last question - can I go back to my 307 version from 317 on my production system if I need? Any files to backup before upgrading?

No, there shouldn't be any issue with that.

Thanks.

No, there shouldn't be any issue with that.

Thanks.

Just for feedback. Works perfectly on my 3.5.3.0. The theme download is working - and I even got my folders sorted correctly again  :)

Thanks a lot.
