aaronmeister 0
makarai was kind enough to refer me to this thread to install the most recent version of Emby. I was able troubleshoot up to the following output. The install fails when it fails to get an SRV, DNSSEC, and DNS responses from FreeBSD and then destroys the jail. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. I felt that I was close once I got things downloading and installing. Running FreeNAS 11.2 RC1. Any thoughts? Testing DNS response to FreeBSD pkg.freebsd.org could not be reached via DNS, check your network Exception: SystemExit:1 occured, destroyed emby-server. Hey, your start parameter is wrong for your jail. ( You should update to the latest FreeNAS too) Why not try it in the beginning much simpler. Try the following which is much easier. wget https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ma-karai/iocage-plugin-emby-beta/master/emby-server-beta.json iocage fetch -P dhcp=on vnet=on bpf=yes -n emby-server-beta.json --branch 'master' This should work no matter what. Report back if it comes up an running. Also I am running now Freenas 11.2RC2 which came out saturday moring and it is rock solid. gbarone123 4
Sluggo’s solution worked like a champ for me. Recently updated FreeNAS to 11.2rc2, installed Emby 3.5.3.0 via plugin (was previously running 3.4.1.5beta with minor issues). Ran into ffmpeg problems for some clients, iOS was fine for some reason. This worked for me: (from Sluggo) Install ffmpeg from the port. You'll need to do Portsnap fetch & extract if you haven't already, then go to /usr/ports/multimedia/ffmpeg and run make install clean. When asked, select the configuration options Emby needs (libass, lame, opus, x265 plus the defaults) and compile. You could just install the ffmpeg package, which is simpler, but if I'm not mistaken the FreeBSD pkg isn't built with all the options needed. ffmpeg will be installed in /usr/local/bin, and libraries in /usr/local/lib. These won't conflict with the Emby install, btw, when it's fixed. Now edit the startup script /usr/local/etc/rc.d/emby-server . Change the emby_server_ffmpeg and emby_server_ffprobe lines (there are two each) to /usr/local/bin instead of /usr/local/opt/emby-server/bin . And change export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/opt/emby-server/lib to export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib . Then restart Emby server.
sluggo45 47
Just remember that is temporary; any update will overwrite the startup script, and there may be unknown problems using a different version of ffmpeg than the one Emby ships. gbarone123 4
Or just install 3.6.0.64 Right, but this is a manual install still, yes? Mine was done using the plugin. Edited November 20, 2018 by gbarone123
sluggo45 47
Manual install/update is easy and I prefer the 3.6.x series now that most of the issues have been worked out, but each to their own. I'm sure the plugin will be duly updated when 3.6 is final.
aaronmeister 0
I was able to install the Emby when using DHCP after upgrading to 11.2RC2. However, I was also able to resolve the issues I was having with another plugin that I think is better suited for my needs.
stuartsjg 2
Hello, Ive been away for this for a few weeks due to other commitments, but getting back onto it. I copied the old warden jail server folder over to the new plugin install (after much messing about by trying to mount the DB as a folder etc etc) and added the storage to the jail - all fine. I can play all audio files and the new emby install is seeing new files being added. However, playing video files gives me the following error in the logs from Application version: 3.5.3.0: Shared object "libx264.so.152" not found, required by "libavcodec.so.58" I've seen a few references to this in other posts, but these posts appear to describe install issues and are based on manual pkg adding. I didn't get any install issues and i had installed the prerequisite packages before hand. Unless something went wrong here i was not aware of. Any tips or pointers would be appreciated - ive perhaps missed the post which tells me how to fix it Thanks, Stuart

WingraMax 0
I tried installing VIA the command line, and I receive an error saying that the emby version may not be compatible with my version of FreeNas. I am currently on the most recent version of FreeNas (just updated yesterday), and am seeking guidance.

CorruptedHart11 0
I can confirm running latest beta(3.6.0.68) and freenas 11.2 RC2 no issues, manual install, also, I'm unsure why people are installing the plugin on this thread when its the manual package, and there is a thread for the plugin.
