omegga 0
I'm using Emby in a docker and just wanted to ask whether I can move the complete config folder to a new server and set up the docker in the exact same way, with the same paths for the library, user and permissions. Will that "just work"? I read about the backup and restore plugin, but I don't want to rescan my library.
Luke 37064
Hi, if everything is the same then yes it might be ok.
omegga 0
I tried doing it. The dashboard loads up and I can see the library folders. But, no content actually shows up.
Luke 37064
What exactly did you do?
omegga 0
I zipped the folder which points to /config in docker which has the data, config, cache, and other folders. Then, I moved it to the new server placed it in the appropriate directory, built the docker with the exact same settings as the previous container. Luke 37064
Ok it's tough to say. I don't think I've tested that before. You may need to run a library scan.
omegga 0
Okay, and if I just wanted to duplicate the metadata i.e. set it up as a new user, how would I do that?
Luke 37064
I don't quite follow. Metadata and users are two separate things. I would just follow the backup guide we have already created. Thanks.
