Emby not displaying folder names in "absolute order" file order type

Basically, before a certain update, you were able to mark show in absolute order file order type and still be able to create custom folders while still maintaining metadata for that show. Now, it doesn't even show the folders and outright displays it as "complete series."

Here's an example: This is a customized seasonal folder I created. Emby used to show the folders along with the respective files in it while in absolute file order type.

Now it's showing up like this. Is there an option to revert back that old file structure?

Hi, there is no such thing as "Complete Series" in emby. That must be a season title that came from a metadata provider such as Tmdb, or other depending on what metadata providers you have enabled.

To prove this, right click one of those episodes and select Go to Season. I think you will see a Season title of Complete Series.

Hey so it does direct me to the respective folder but how do I get it to show folders rather than one singular season.

HI, there isn't really a plain folder view for tv series. Absolute order will put everything together into one season.

If you want seasons then you'd have to reorganize and rename your files into seasons and then select aired or dvd order.

Please let us know if this helps. Thanks.

you WERE able to do it. You guys made it so that any show that has 1 season is shown entirely in slides rather than a seasons folder (please revert this feature, its horrible). It wasnt the case with "absolute order" but you've brought that egregious design into the absolute order file structure

You can adjust that to your preference: User settings>Display tab>Preferred series display.
