Lacaillex 2 Posted September 21, 2024 Posted September 21, 2024 (edited) I upgraded to a new laptop and transferred all my media to an external hard drive and re-installed emby media server on my new device. However it still seems to be snagged on my old computer as it will only let me in via remote connect on the new device. I no longer have the old laptop. And now, all of a sudden, it will not let me log in. I'm using the correct info but it says the log-in information is incorrect, but as the server is still locked on the old device I cannot enact a password reset either. Just paid to upgrade to emby premiere and cannot even utilize that either as I cannot get in to insert the key they sent, and when I access via the TV app it doesn't seem to recognize the purchase or give me the option to activate it - just asks me to subscribe, which I already did. How can I fix this so the server recognizes my new device as the new hub so that I can fix everything else? Edited September 21, 2024 by Lacaillex adding premiere unlock issue
Lacaillex 2 Posted September 21, 2024 Author Posted September 21, 2024 I can remote log-in no problem on my phone and the TV app, just not on Windows where it keeps telling me my log in is incorrect - even though it was working just fine on this device last week and I have not altered any settings.

On your new laptop, is the networking mode set as Public or Private - it needs to be Private (Windows of late has been likely to set it to Public, which restricts connectivity. Paul

Paul It looks like my networks are set to Public. My OS is Windows 11 I believe I have been using Connect since the PC swap. When I right-click on the emby server and select Browse Library, Configure Emby, etc it takes me to a page that directs me: Sign in to My Server Name with a localhost URL rather than taking me directly into my library like it did on my previous computer. When I try to log in to emby via https://app.emby.media/#!/startup/welcome.html it directs me to make an entirely new account rather than just letting me get to my server. I imagine I'm missing something small and will feel an idiot later. I cannot log in on my computer - even though I use the exact same log in information I do on my phone (which will let me log in) - it tells me the password or username is incorrect. I've tried on and off the VPN so I'm guessing it's related to network thing or that emby just hates Japan.
